Just look at the evangelism of some of the gentoo users. They are completely dedicated to spreading the word. On some OS or Tech News sites, there are few distro related posts that doesn't have a gentoo disciple posting a follow up about the superiority of their distro. This would be massive free advertising if some commercial product would get that kind of devotion.
I remember the Bond switch over and still watch all of the Bond films. But Sean Connery is and always will be Bond. The rest have been mediocre replacements in my mind. Indiana will be the same, Harrison is and always will be the real Indiana.
IBM has always produced a quality product and had a pretty good reputation, especially their laptops. I can't imagine they would want to tarnish that image by selling to a low cost budget type PC company.
What is this going to do to the Free Credit Report Industry. You know you click the link for a free credit report and find out you only have to pay them $xx per year for their special service and you get the free credit report. More unemployment to worry about.
I think we need to find out where the robot lobby gets their budget. We had all of those shotgun wielding, machine gun wielding robot stories. They must have become concerned that we were getting a negative impression of their intent. So now we get the warm cuddy side of robots... puhleeze. I hope we all can see through this.

And then they complain when companies try to insure that only legal owners can play the games with some sort of copy protection. I hate the schemes also, but you can't blame them when that many people are playing without paying.
Well then, shouldn't the RIAA file suit on OCaml also. After all it is being used to write an application that is being used illegally by some people. Certainly they should have foreseen this.
Most any company is going to look at things from their own point of advantage. If they did not feel they could make money on linux or it would actually hurt them, why would they praise it. So now they apparently think they can make money from it. At least they were open minded enough to reevaluate their position.
C'mon, why do you think we have children. It's to load the DVD/CD players for us.... You didn't really think we didn't know how to set the clock did you? HAHAHA
"By becoming a WIPO observer, FSFE will be able to communicate with WIPO more effectivelly and may attract attention and support from decision makers."
So other than the power to be informed and squawk about bad decisions, what has the free software community gained. We have been squawking already and the powers that be do not care. How will this make them care any more. Maybe I am missing something.
Even the article says the margins are larger enough that they can not claim machine errors effected the election. This makes it pretty clear that if the margin was closer they would be making that claim.

The best thing is they should be able to find all of the shotgun wielding robots that we were worried about last week on /.
I don't think a prize will make a difference. Whoever figures this out and patents it will be a billionaire. The question is, is it really feasible.
Dang, I was going to copyright an album of that music..... hmmmmm maybe an album playing the windows start up tones over and over.
Modded down as a troll. You have to be kidding. It is obvious that I was spoofing the RIAA. It is spelled sarcasm.

I thought all of you moonlighted doing the same thing as the rest of us nerd studs do. Perhaps you've seen me on SNL "Fred Garvin, male prostitute"
The government will do anything to keep Fox News from their air waves.
The article clearly says to go to your nearest Chem Dept Library and read the article.. Sheesh.
Why go there just for the bandwidth, when they can locate their factory in mainland China and enjoy the benefits of genuine slave labor.

Personally I was hoping for your house.
Go back and reread it.... this is a custom "solution". You just can't go wrong with one of those.
You start up National Parks and the bears show up to beg and go through the trash.
As always I can say Thank God I live in Indiana. We have a much more restrictive no call rule than the Federal one.
Since they need a loophole to make it legal, it must be illegal at this point. Give 'em hell.
