30 character password: Now, that;s not paranoid, just plain stupid. Just imagine, early in the morning, quickly checking mail before tumbling out the door going to work, and I mistype 1 character: bamm, type again, mistype 1 character again: bamm, type again
Not true if the password is 123456789012345678901234567890.:-)
I know there was a problem with a picture that was uploaded to Wikipedia from a NASA site. The picture was eventually removed after the warnings of copyright infringement were received.
The thing worked like this: NASA got the raw data from its own satellites and hired an external company to do the processing. The result images were owned that company, which gave NASA only the right to display.
So, although that particular company was funded from public money, it did not release the pictures in public domain.
At least with the version 7, the hardest thing is to get used with it, but then, you won't switch it for nothing in the world.:-)
Version 6 had a much cleaner interface. (my father still uses it and doesn't want a upgrade)
You, Sir, have just proven that you read that particular book. You're probably well aquainted with the new governmental policy against any type of written material. Tell us where you hide your stash of books and you won't be hurt.
So, why do we keep sending only B&W cameras on these things
Any amateur photographer can confirm that for making color picture in the visible spectrum you need plenty of light, otherwise you'd get poor quality pictures. On Titan there was not much light and that's why they had to use infrared cameras.
Please note that Saturn is 9.5 times farther than the Sun than Earth, so it gets 91 times less light from the Sun than Earth. Also, the atmosphere of Titan is very dense, even more dense than the one of Earth, so, this also diminuates the light available.
I think what he meant by that was that the musicians didn't get paid for writing music.
I beg your pardon? At least in Eastern Europe during the communist regime, musicians did get paid for their records/"writing music". Of course, the successful ones were not payed as much as they would in a capitalist system, but well above the average income.
You're saying that the Turkish government never uses false information in their propaganda ? Just read the History of Northern Cyprus on their official site and see what I mean.
Turkish authorities killed tens of thousands of Kurds and razed whole Kurdish villages just because they assumed that important PKK members were hidden there.
Not to mention that until recently speaking Kurdish was forbidden. Can anybody imagine this ? Just walking on the street speaking your native tongue and get busted for this! And this is Turkey, where the police and authorities have hundreds of years of experience in torture.
I mean, for my stomach's sake, don't make me disgusted.
Slashdot should be made legally responsible for making thousand of people watch goatse.cx!!! :-)
Vivisimo has not Wikipedia search, like Clusty.
No, no. That should be: 1) Download Mozilla code and modify it a bit
2) Change the name
3) Change the name
4) Change the name
5) ???
6) Profit!!!

I heard 'lol' actually being said a few times. :-)

BTW: Look at this useful blog to see a quite unique type of blog spamming.
This is slashdot: don't let reality to ruin a good story.

Am I the only one that considers this piece of software the worst implemented software of Microsoft ?
I am yet to understand WHY anybody (excluding Microsoft) ever uses it, when there are free and open-source alternatives.
Just a link to pic of Bob Comet
Try "shit". It isn't censored.
Does anybody knows how to (or if it is possible) import emails from The Bat client ?
No, no, no! On Korean Slashdot, Soviet Russia jokes are for old people.
You're saying that the Turkish government never uses false information in their propaganda ? Just read the History of Northern Cyprus on their official site and see what I mean.
Actually, no. :-)
Most Turks actually believe that stuff: mainly because the press is forbidden to say anything else.
"Why waste money on developing science? The money would be better spent on invading another country"

The average pay is probably around $2/hour, in Istanbul. Most likely, the rest of country, which is underdeveloped, has much lower wages.
