I don't even know where Wii Sports IS. I have literally lost the disk. I tend to play Trauma Center and Zelda... and I'll be getting Paper Mario in a few weeks.
The only multiplayer games I ever really play is SSB:M (and, presumably, Brawl, when it comes out) and WoW.
Nintendo didn't drop the ball with online play. They're not even playing in that field, they're over there, playing a different, more interesting game. It's called single player games
Not only is 09f911029d74e35bd84156c5635688c0 not illegal (fair use), the reason Digg was originally chided was because the entire concept of it (which is just a number) being illegal or in anyway censured is inheritable comedic. That would be like saying pi is illegal. It's just ridiculous.
Actually using this number to copy an HDDVD and then distributing it over the internet is actually an illegal in the US as a breach of copyright, and if the movie studio (who is the sole party responsible for enforcing this copyright) catches you, you can be subjected to a fine. THAT'S IT. Any other use of this number, such as posting it on the internet, making merchandise with it, or using it in conjunction with software to copy an HDDVD for personal use, or use it view the movie in operating systems that do not yet (or never will) have an official client, is not illegal.
While this horribly draconian, stupid, pointless, and a fine example of educational institutions once again bending to the whim of content industry cartels, if they are going to be like that, they should treat dorms like every other apartment building in the world and allow the students to purchase their own internet connection if the ToS for the campus internet isn't acceptable (I would consider the inability to use Bittorrent completely unacceptable and barely worth being called "internet"). Chances are a student at this university will not only not be able to use the internet they pay for properly, it's not likely they'll be able to find an alternative ISP. Which should be illegal.
The kind of person who would major in Math is generally very good at it anyway. Why else would someone major in it? It's not exactly a high-demand career path. It's not going to bring in the big bucks...
Especially if you're running firefox in windows, NoScript is basically essential. I don't understand why they think it's a hassle, if the webpage doesn't work, you can just whitelist it (assuming you trust it) and never worry about it again. It's no hassle at all.
Way to be! I will buy several albums from this, if only to encourage this sort of thing. DRM is a terrible idea and can never hold back file sharing, so lowering the headaches of legitimate customers is a wise business decision.
Yeh, but I was making the assumption that God was constraining himself to using a human language...
That part of my comment didn't come out too clearly, though. stupid languages.
If God had physically come down to earth, found a man living in one of the first civilizations, and tried to explain to him the Big Bang, stellar evolution, how the Solar System developed, and biological evolution, the man would be totally confused. It takes years in a modern school system to even parse these concepts. If other Christians can take Revelations and half of Jesus's stories figuratively, if they can understand that it didn't actually (or won't actually) happen exactly like that, WHY can't they understand this about Genesis? Is it so hard? I'm confused. It seems obvious to me. It actually follows the scientific evidence vaguely well, ex. "The earth was without form and void" meaning Earth hadn't coalesced from the nebulous cloud of material orbiting the new Sun.
Damnit, there is no real difference between Bluray and HD-DVD except Bluray costs more, and is being subsidized by Sony in the PS3. I don't plan on buying a PS3, so if Bluray actually comes through on top, in the end, and if someday I get an HDTV, I'll have to buy a bluray player, and it will be more expensive... For no techincal reasons whatsoever. HDDVD has more than enough capacity to store hd video when using a decent compression codec...
I am not pleased.
Why can't I import my DVD's into iTunes yet? Because of CSS? Psh, that cat is out of the bag, the DVD consortium would be well advised to fully legalize circumvention so that, like a CD, I can just stick a DVD into my computer, spend some CPU cycles encoding in high quality 720x480 H.264 *.mov files, and make a fully searchable database of all my movies and TV shows, which with an Apple TV, I could then stream to my television at will! THAT would make it worth $300! If Apple honestly thinks everyone is going to repurchase all their videos, again, but this time DRMed to death, just so they can stream it, they're nutty.
Now would be the time for people to point out third-party solutions to this issue. Have at it...
It's kinda sad that they're forcing the company to pay money because they're ridiculously paranoid. It seems like maybe they should be paying Turner $2m for tarnishing their brand with all this bad press...
What do they mean, that the engine is incapable of running in 480i/p?
Maybe they should have said they didn't feel like porting it... or that they didn't think it would sell well. Saying they were going to have some sort of technical difficulty porting the engine to the Wii is just ludicrous.
I'm not an astrophysist (though I wanted to be one in high school), but I rather like the simpiler concept of the universe being finite, though rather large by this point, in that if you look in one direction far enough your line of sight will loop back to see your current location (though of course several billion years ago). Sort of like in Asteroids where if you fly past the left edge of the screen, your ship shows up on the right side.
Which makes me wonder weather or not some of the galaxies in the hubble deep field is ours.
Damn. I would consider myself a rather big fan of the Gamecube, it is the console I own the most games for, and I own far less than 30. It's more like 18 or so. I only have 6 or 8 PS2 games.
I don't know how Sony is going to pull themselves out of this mess, but they better think fast...
I only have a few favorites on youtube, and one of them was a clip (not the entire episode) from a Daily Show about Ted Stevens thinking the internet was made of tubes. The removal of this is stupid and pointless, since I'm definantly not going to go purchased a DRMed file of the entire episode. Bah! I may have to see if I can find that day's episode on bittorrent.
...because they don't burn out. Or it seems like they don't, I know they do eventually, but I've been replacing every normal bulb that has burned out in the house with a florecent and they just keep shining.
It's a better value. Plus if it makes the power bill cheaper that's even better.
Why is it distressing? The Gamecube managed quite well without any online to speak of, and it didn't have the luxery of Sony constantly shooting itself in the foot.
They might as well change the message to "You have not installed WGA because you are smart enough to realize that Windows is not worth money. You have 30 days to buy a Mac or switch to linux."
I was under the impression that AOL has been trying to kill ICQ for years now. How are these people so (un)blissfully unaware of the situation?

Time for another helping of milk and cookies... For health reasons.
That's only an issue if you have an HDTV. Very few people do.

Trying to regulate content on the internet is like trying to make politicians work pertinent issues.
I guess he meant "to make it take two minutes longer for a pirate to copy a DVD first"

Uh, no. Unless it actually belongs to the Human species, it is an animal, and has no rights whatsoever. It is an object, like a coffee mug.
