It's not really that simple. It's easy to merge them, but that doesn't change anything because ID is philisophical, not scientific. You can't prove it or disprove it. It's like very fringe forms of physics that are completely impossible to test, it's nice to think about, but doesn't really do anyone any good. I, in a way, believe in ID, but I am very much against it being taught in school, except possibly in a College level Philosophy of Science class, as an example of what science isn't.

  12. Artistic Expression is of utmost importance on Realism vs. Style: the Zelda Debate · · Score: 4, Insightful

Realism is entirely overrated. It's just one of many styles, and one that's been used way too much lately. Twilight Princess looks to be very very pretty and cool, but I'd be sorely dissapointed if every zelda game for the rest of time looked like it. I don't dislike realistic graphics as a matter of course, but they have their place, and there's room for all kinds of expression. For example, what in the world would have been as appealing about Rez if it wasn't wireframe? Would Mario 64 have been nearly as fun if it was animated like Ocarina of Time?

The article is pretty much right on the money. The realistic look is popular, but I don't think that it should be to the exclusion of other forms of expression and style. Game designers are artists, and they should be able to paint their picture with less concern for what sells and what doesn't. But that's not the enviroment right now, so...

This stuff is so expensive as it is, I can only ever afford to buy the series I really like. They'd sell the stuff like hotcakes. Digital hotcakes, even.

The International Astronomical Union is going to have to announce some sort of definition as to what does and does not qualify as a planet, so that we can avoid these confusions in the future.

Don't get me wrong, I wish the 360 full and complete sucess in it's online multiplayer niche market, but I just don't appreciate these companies constantly pushing generations shorter and shorter while at the same time making smaller and smaller leaps in technology. It's not like they're saying ID is true and evolution isn't. That WOULD be going over the line, I think, unless of course ID could be proved, which I imagine will be very difficult considering not many scientist want to go that direction or could even think up any experiments to test it... if it's even possible to test. Of course if it's impossible to test then it's no longer a valid scientific base to stand on, but that's beside the point.

Updateing to the next generation will cost at least another $200, and that's just for the N5. The PS3 will probably cost $300. That's a half a grand investment.
