It is possible for civilians to own fully automatic weapons, however there are a limited number of them available (nothing produced after 1986, has to have been registered before then), the costs are usually astronomical (12-16k is average for a m-16 style weapon), only certain states allow it, and current wait times to get the paperwork processed is about 6 months.
But it is possible... technically.

Couldnt the same requirements be placed on you to show it isn't made up/corrupt?
Warn them to say the hell out of Sysadmining. AKA the place where your considered a cost center, constantly under threat of downsizing, and basically only remembered when you need to spend money or something goes horrifically wrong.

Shotgun with slugs. Will punch a hole about an inch across thru the drive, and after 3-4 of them there is no way anyone, even a 3 letter agency is recovering that.

This was a while ago, but I just found it to be troublesome to open up yast, search for things, not find them, then go install the.tar.gz anyway. I just found that apt and emerge had more than I ever could want/need/desire. And IIRC there is frontend for both apt and emerge.
and how many users out there actully do patch? Thats great that the OS auto does, but what about the thousands of pirated copies of windows that can be patched?
There is only one sligh thing that you failed to remember. Yes, there is near zero downtime (on older systems I remember the knoppix (which im assuming is similar to memphis) installer bogging the system down to a near unusable level. Yes, there is a ton of packages installed, but what if you dont want them all? For example, I remember having etheral installed by default (simply using it as an example, replace package foo here), when in my life I have never used, nor do I ever plan to use it. The same goes for many other pre-installed aplications. On my laptop, I really dont need the whole graphics suite that is installed. I could go on here, but its kind of redundant. The point being you could spend those six hours that you "saved" chasing down software that you dont want/need, and hoping to hell some dependencies dont get messed up (not so sure about the dependencies part, its been a year or so since my last adventure with debian). So before you go off and clame that these live-cd's are the answer to mankinds problems, remember that they can cause more problems than they solve.
Amen to the X configuration. I remember installing Gentoo twice, the second time simply because I thought I had messed up somewhere, and hadnt installed X. It wasnt till much later that I realized that unlike other distro's (debian had been my flavor of choice pre-gentoo), X wasnt installed by default. Even a tag line in the Guide saying "click here for help on setting up a GUI" would have been a huge time saver. (2 stage 1 installs on a P3 500Mhz... ouch)

Ill ask you the same question I want to ask everytime someone says how amazing another disto is. Where is the incentive to switch from my gentoo install? (not counting the 3 days it took to fully install and compile).
It runs very well on my 1900+ (stock speeds), with a half gig of cheap ram, and a Ti4200. Sure, it lags out at anything over medium settings, but its amazingly playable at medium settings.
Where are they? When the market share is anything more than 20% they will start to show up in great numbers. Hell, IMS Lin has its users running as root anyway, so it wouldnt even be that hard to get them to run a shell script. There is just no point to coding to the miniority of users. Plus, the real volumes of linux users (and not those that bought a cheap computer at Wallmart), arnt dumb enought to install commit-curser. Untill we get Joe-Sixpack on Linux, there is absolutly no reason to spend the time and effort to creat spyware for it.
(And a fan-boy? Fan-boy of what? Im a gentoo user, that admits MS did a heck of a job at makeing computers and internet a mainline thingie)
Was going to moderate this one, but I would just like to say, if there wasnt a windows, odds are there wouldnt be a Linux (just take a good honest look at the gui, the coding behind it non-withstanding). And if there was a linux, all the cute little sypware and bonzi-buddies of the world would have been written for the prodomatly linux world. Its easy to sit back and bash MS, but if they wernt around, it would be someone else. Its just smart to code crap for the prodomant OS, especially if your purpose is malware.
no! no no no no! Even hearing that brings back some very bad and scary memories. People randomly and wildly press buttons, and then hope it gets saved. And descriptive names? file01.doc for their doctoral thesis file02.doc for their kids homeworks assignment.... rinse and repeast adnausium.
