When Sony launched the ps2 in Europe they argued the ps2 WAS/IS a computer so that they could avoid an import tax. so just use their own case against them. Whatever they told the european courts that the ps2 is a computer could be applied in our courts since the ps2 is the same in both regions.
How about the windows keyboard which all pc makers follow today. those extra 3 keys only get in the way in games and reduced the size of one of the most used keys on the keyboard -- the spacebar. If ms took a little more time thinking about it they could have placed it in a much less intrusive location. but I won't mention that the majority of the functions using the windows keys can be accomplished just as easily on a keybaord that only has 101 keys.
Then theres the trip cord on the xbox controller. It is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. All it is, is a plug thats looser than the plug that goes directly into the console itself. theres no reason whatsoever why they couldnt have made the plug on the console looser and saved a few cents on that other one. Additionally the xbox is sufficiently heavy enough that anyone tripping on the cord is more likely to rip the controller out of the gamers hands than drag the xbox over the table.
Read back on slashdot's articles. that multi platform anti virus company microsoft bought a few months ago, proves linux users WILL pay for good software.
Everyone likes a free meal, but that doesnt mean we won't pay when its worth it.
I agree. firebird renders pages faster than IE6+sp1 too.
My sister made the same observation and she's on cable whereas I only have dial up. The next day I went over to her place and put mozilla on her computer. Another happy camper!
As much as I hate microsoft as well, I have to disagree with that comment. The pheonix/firebird project is a complete rewrite of mozilla and its coming along just fine so rewriting the code from scratch need not be doom and gloom...
Which field in engineering? I'm a civil engineer myself and I can't see the industry switching bigtime to something other than windows until microstation or autocad go multi platform again. Up to about version 12, Autosketch had Autocad available on Linux, Apple + othe platforms, then microsoft paid them a tonne of money to go exclusive. Until that changes I cant see civil engineers leaving in masses.:(
yea its installed with windows but dont forget the service pack to get rid of those severe security flaws. Its about 60mb in size, and then you have to get the updates that have been made since the service pack was released. You can only get those off the windows update site (ftp is too good for them). All this adds up to be a pretty hefty download if you want to secure your browser.
Pheonix on the other hand is a 6mb download and that's all. You update when you want to and even then you would have to do it at least 10 times before it comes close to size of IE SP1A alone.
theres been a long standing rumour that Mickeysoft is interested in buying blizzard because of their expertise in online gaming. Maybe these guys leaving is due to this? like when the key developers in Rare left to form Free Radical (makers of Timesplitters) before billy boy came along.
no but any country thats part of the WTO and has signed the berne convention must follow IP rights. Each country has its own laws but they wont be too dissimilar from the U.S.'s
it opens faster because each of the small doors goes up at the same time. To open it in the same amount of time using a single large door would require pulling it up much faster. Also lots of small doors take up less room becasue each of the doors go behind the other. if the door was one single piece then the hanger would have to be twice as tall.
Mod chips allowed VCD playback on psOnes after sony removed the serial ports. Plenty of legal vcds were released by the major movie companies.

yes.... but only after they purchased key technologies off SGI to make it viable

Yea they shoulda gone with Memory stick. they go up to 1 gig now and with sony making palm devices I'm sure they can cut a deal for a themselves.
yes, someone else will be heading Shenmue 3 but Yu will oversee it.
You mean the company that came up with those useless keys that only get in the way during gaming?
here's a link for your 'Making a *private* MP3 copy of a song isn't illegal' statement :)
Riaa Vs Rio
I hope the link works, if not it is : http://www.salon.com/ent/log/1999/06/16/rio/
This will just push people into using other services, just like what happened with napster and AG.
maybe but a heavily fragmented Ie is worse than a heavily fragmented firebird, simply because it takes up less space on the hard disk.

Another thing you could add is:
smaller browser = less disk space occupied = faster defrag times.

Just invoke the built-in popup blocker and problem solved.
I see no reason why someone would need to have over 100 windows browser open during normal use.
It crashed on mozilla as well.

Saturn V Payload: 118 000 kg
