Too difficult. Just rename your prOn folder to "Work", "Stamp Collection Database", "Great Aunt Mabel" or "Danger - Do not open this folder". That'll fox the little buggers.
This whole thread is littered with the words stealing, theft, piracy, yadda, yadda, yadda. Maybe someone can set me strait but I was lead to believe that there are no IP laws there, at least that respect international boundaries. If that's the case then there has been no piracy, theft or stealing, just copying.
PUPPIES?!? PUPPIES?!! Don't talk to me about puppies, I'm nearly incoherent with rage that you even bought the subject up. RAINBOWS!!!!???? You insensitive clod!
The RIAA are quite right to do this and it doesn't go far enough IMHO. We should stop teaching kids to write as soon as they get to school. There are only so many words in the dictionary and we should be copywriting them now to stop these buggers infringing from an early age. It will be a tricky balance teaching them to read (they'll need to consume) but not write but these thieves need this kind of corrective education.
After that we go after the drawers. I've used trapezoid shapes in my own art work and I'm keen to find a way to be compensated for my efforts.
I used to sell mobiles phones in the late 90's. In four and a half years of signing people upto airtime and insurance contracts I can count on one hand the amount of people that actually bothered to read them first.
After all, voice recognition and optical character recognition are already such ubiquitous and transparently seamless technologies that brain wave recognition is likely to be a resounding success.
That's right...I always wanted to be Chuck Norris but it turns out I'm the guy who fixes computers. I studied computers so I could be Chuck Norris but as I can't bust your sorry ass I'll be happy to fix your box.
I'd be ticked if they were putting cameras in people's homes without a warrant related to a specific investigation. But seriously, what you do in public is *public*. Hellooo....
I take your point but the output of these cameras are not public. Where can I see feeds from these cameras? If what I do in public is *public* then why can't I log on to the internet and see where I've been today? Why can't I see where you have been or what Tony Blair has been up to in public today?
"I personally think temperature is of little relevance."
The study I cited provides experimental evidence that you are more likely to have a suppressed action on your immune system if you are cold. aa such, it is demonstrating just one factor (I'm sure there are many)that influences the chance of any one individual suffering a cold. This does seem to be the case despite what you think.
There are many things that can lead to a suppressed immune system; I'd conjecture moving to another country and being immersed in a soup of viral, fungal and bacterial organisms that you've never been exposed to before might just do that, might, indeed, lead to nasties already in your system messing you up worse and with more regularity.
"Population, and ones movement through it matter much more."
IANAD but it seems to me you are talking about viral vectors and patterns of infection within a population there. The study I cited does not address these issues and I certainly don't claim to be able to explain anything about your personal experience either. Seems to me you'd be better off asking these questions of trained medical staff than some random slashdot troll like me.
Try taking vitamin C and eating lot's of garlic. Don't forget to put on clean underwear before you leave the house.
There is a definite link between being cold and having a cold.
From the University of Cardiff's website:...A study at the Common Cold Centre in Cardiff UK in 2005 took 90 students and chilled their feet in cold water for 20 minutes and showed that the chilled group had twice as many colds over the next 5 days as a control group of 90 students whose feet were not chilled....
Basically being cold allows any virus that you already have to take a stronger hold on your body and so symptoms that you wouldn't have had become expressed. You are close in thinking that the immune system is weakened but you certainly don't need to be hypothermic, you just have to have the virus present in your nose already.
See; your Mother was right! I wonder what else she got right?...you do have clean underwear on don't you?
No morals involved...it's simply just more convenient.

BSOD...Blue Scream of Death?
No puedo leer a españoles, yo no entiendo porqué eso es divertido! Usted clod insensible!

Something I once heard here went something like: In Europe they have nudity, in America they have pornography.

Okay...I'm done now...sorry.
I imagine it is so that Microsoft can better protect you from yourself.
You don't want the ability to put yourself in a compromising position do you? Microsoft want to offer you Genuine Protection(tm).

You'd think someone would buy NASA the DVD set, they obviously haven't thought it through properly.

Just checking, is this one obligatory yet?
