I beg to differ, We USED to be able to do exactly what the article above talks about before NAFTA in 1996. As a matter of fact we were 10 times better it all of it. I was a 20 year Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineer at the time that the Gov't decided for us that we should just let manufacturing go. What were you doing in 1996? After that your Glorious politicians decided that China was going to be a good partner in this.

I posted this is as a reply but thought the rest should get a chance to chime in. I "WAS" a manufacturing engineer starting in the 80's into the 90's. Before the Gov't taxed the companies so high that paying workers and paying taxes needed to find something that could make them competitive. Sadly, that meant moving that part of the business model out of the country. Enter NAFTA, this was the loophole that companies needed to move manufacturing out of the country without paying a huge fine. Once the plant was in Mexico, namely Juarez, they were free to move it overseas without a penalty. That one screw shows how much the US Gov't had a hand in destroying the livelihood of the workers in what they call the "Fly over States. And all of you wonder how Trump got elected, look only as far as the Federal Government. And you thought they were looking out for you, ha ha ha ha ha!

The one thing I cant stand is the way everything is Trumps fault. It was the same for Obama, when he was Pres everything was his fault. It isnt the president, they only server for at the most 8 years. Now Congreass, yes I meant to spell it like that, gets to mess up the country until they die if they get elected that long. Why are they allowed to influence for far longer than they understand the United States and how we as a people feel. When you are almost 90 you should no longer be actually in office. Maybe a consultant but not in congress or the senate. This is the real issue, they have created what Trump calls the "Deep State". This has been in place for a long time. We need to regulate congress and the senate by curbing the term they can officially be in office to 12 years total. They should not be allowed to move to another district and get any more time to weasel their back in and attempt to direct the country in the way THEY want it and not the ones that elected their butts. Just my opinion as an independent American.

Even in the public sector we should not be paying for an "Elective" surgery and its after care. Do you want to pay for a breast enhancement or any other plastic surgeries out of your taxes or health care? Now if you join before you have had any surgeries than have at it but don't expect the general population to pay for something that is a nice to have and not a life threatening issue. My two cents and free to anyone that cares to listen to "Free Speech".
