    Apple does provide, and always has, Java for OS X. It has always been an integrated application environment, hence the collective 'Huh?" when Java 6 didn't show up with Leopard.

    Yes you are missing something. The 'value' you put in something is pretty meaningless to everyone else and historical interest is a value if you are interested.

    Windows 2000 didn't happen out of thin air, nor did it happen in the 1.5 years between 98 and 2000 being released. Linux had little impact on 2000 as even in many large datacenters Linux was still an outsider.

    They don't delete your account, they just don't guarantee it's going to be there after 3 months. Many people have come back after a year or longer and just logged back in and picked up where they left off.

    SquareEnix != Sony. Sony is the one that removed the HDD from the slim PS2, FFXI has always required it.
