    As far as I know, no terminal emulator deals with Persian correctly: terminals are block based beasts, and Persian (as Sanscrit, and others) are not.

    The Backspace does exactñy what it should in vim---but it may be different from what *you* expect it to do. It is trivial to change its behaviour, in any case. Vim is very selective of its users...

    You use words like "zealots" and yet you have not even bothered to minimally read up on what you are supposedly talking about... FreeType cannot be inferior to TrueType because the two are absolutely incomparable. What you said is more or less the same than saying that Apache is actually inferior to HTTP.

    In the name of $DEITY, stop using those stats. The page you linked to ITSELF states:

    W3Schools is a website for people with an interest for web technologies. These people are more interested in using alternative browsers than the average user. The average user tends to use Internet Explorer, since it comes preinstalled with Windows. Most do not seek out other browsers.

    This is well-known and your using that data to back up any claim has only the result of making you look like a complete fool.

    The arrival of 2000DPI printers did not result in people printing in 0.02 point font sizes, did it? (And, by the way, the size of text set in 10 points does *not* change with the DPI...)
