I've found that a great way to plug-in somewhere in a new community is to volunteer. Give blood, give out water at the local fun-run, participate in community events. It's cheaper, works great and its good for the soul.
One of the great things about Thief was the voice acting, particularly Stephen Russell as Garrett. He made such an impression on the fans, that when Thief 4 was announced, that was the first question asked on the Edios forums.
This is all wishful thinking. Google ending support will not be the "final nail" in the proverbial coffin. IE 6 will continue to live in the corporate world (my own included unfortunately) for many years to come. This may be the first step, but its dancing before the music has started in my opinion.
You can throw Thief 3 into that bag as well. We went from huge levels in Thief 2, with seemly endless places to explore, to tiny little city blocks with ghost like floating fog separating areas. Seen by a guard? No problem! Run unto the ghostly fog and you're good to go in the next area. Talk about taking the player out of the game.
The strength of buzz is it's too convenient NOT to use. It's also a solid alternative for people who for various reasons can't or don't log into facebook from work.
That's it exactly. I don't use either Facebook or Twitter just because of the hassle and my own time constraints. I do use Gmail however, and have loved Buzz as a quick and easy way to see what all my friends and family are up to. I don't need to log into anything else, it's all right there with my email.
I may be in the minority, but I love Buzz for the convenience alone.
That is an excellent point. I use a proxy service for every domain I own just because of that reason. It gets expensive since it effectively doubles the cost, but it's kept my email clear for over a decade now.
I think it's an interesting idea, and certainly headed in the right direction. Having had one of the early mp3 players back in the day, it was a relief to deal with the iPod just because of the simplicity of the interface.
What we really need is a 'mouse gesture' like control for your headphones. That way the user could customize their controls to whatever they wanted. Now THAT is something I would buy... but then that would probably prove too complicated for the average user. Never know though...
Great idea, but what if you listen to music with only one ear? I work in an office environment where people regularly interrupt my coding work. As a result, I have taken the habit of listening to my music with only one ear bud. That way I can hear whenever someone is trying to get my attention, but can still listen to my alternative rock to my heart's content.
I think they're taking into account the monies spent on representation in Washington (i.e. Lobbyists), which allowed them to get this contract in the first place.
I haven't played a good Tank sim since Team Yankee and Pacific Islands. Those were the first computer games I've ever bought and I have yet to play a Tank sim that can top them. Since they are nearly 20 years old, that's pretty sad.
Adding an -ism to the end of a word completely changes the concept. Doing something communally and sharing is not the same as being forced to share by the government.
I don't remember much about Geocities, but I do remember that I absolutely HATED having their advertisements on my page.
An old trick we used back in the day was to open a noscript tag, but not close it. This kept all the ads from showing up. Of course you couldn't run javascript on it from there, but in 1998, who cared.

is it that I couldn't even get the cops to come out to the scene of the crime when my "reality" based car was broken into.
Crisco, condoms, baby bottles and grape jelly... hmmm.... I think I've seen this movie, you fetishist you.

That's been a problem for years

Times every quote by 10! How else will they think you're a miracle worker laddie?
Really? Maybe all my fears are outdated... and I'm paying all that money for no reason!

Since mold and slime are already there...
I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one who thought of the Blackadder when I saw this headline.
Not to mention S1m0ne

Good old 'Ism-mania'
So when can I get one for my 2 year old?? Please hurry...
Bethesda, we're still waiting for the DLC's to be released via Steam (I refuse to use GFW)!

I can't wait until a politician gets "caught" for not paying his/her use taxes.
The post above made no reference to a specific tax.
I believe that has happened many times already....

To raise money to cover expenses.
Why not just raise the existing sales tax bracket?
Would you feel better if you paid to the state in which you're doing business instead?
The business already pays sales tax in their home state, so that tax is already paid.
