    Except with Autopilot the driver is always suppose to be in control of the vehicle and paying attention to the road, it provides assistance to the driver it does not take over the job of the driver.
    Seem many people do not understand this and the name does not help.

    Your complaint is why I do not expect to see SAE level 3 cars.

    It can be done but it needs to be setup with a PIN for access before you turn on any restrictions.

    That is not the ethanol that is the gasoline, they allow more varnish and gunk in the gasoline now then they used to.
    I use stable to deal with this for my snow blower and lawn mower.

    Use Fixed-point arithmetic.
    In Mathematica make sure to specify your precision.
    Look at 'Arbitrary-Precision Numbers' and 'Machine-Precision Numbers' for more information on how Mathematica does this.

    The RFID tags you are thinking of are passive with no batteries.

    This RFID tag has a battery. From this I conclude that it is active and therefore almost certainly has a much greater range.

    Makes me wonder how long the batteries last and if they are rechargeable/replaceable or if new badges need to be issued when they wear out.

    Those tools only blow thru the security when the user uses a weak password or the simple four digit pass code. So use a strong password and the forensics tools will not be able to brute force it, same as any other password.

    Actually it is both I think.

    The music is licensed to Apple for sale to Apple's customer(s) via iTunes.

    IMO for the Sister Sledge's purposes the music is licensed since Apple is who pays Warner Music Group.

    So you are saying if the doctor needs to make a adjustment to the operation of the device based on the data downloaded from it they should need to preform surgery instead of using the wireless interface?

    The problem with your idea of building hardware that that is fault-tolerant is that it would be more expensive. There is no way around that since both in the design and test of the hardware more resources would need to be used.

    Also the BOM and manufacturing costs would most likely also go up.

    Most consumer devices are too cost and time sensitive for this.

    The information needed for putting money into an bank account is the same as the information needed to pull money out of it.

    If money is incorrectly transfered into your account it is not yours and you can get into a lot of trouble if you try to keep it. This has happened before and it is sad to see people thinking they can get away with keeping the money and then ending up in jail. Same for a envelope full of cash, just that they may not be able to figure out who got the envelope.

    I read that part differently than you.

    I do not believe the comment was directed at paramedics or any other emergency workers.

    Rather that the plant would be full automated to the point that no human is needed for the normal operation of the facility. So not only the production line but also all maintenance and other activities would be automated. The "mostly useless emergency supervisors" would only need to do anything if something unexpected happened that the automation could not handle. We are not any where near that level of automation yet.

    Yes. You need to leave the WiFi enabled for them to do that though.

    I assume that is what the press a single button comment was about. The person does not want to turn the WiFi on and off based on location so leaved it off all the time.

    Uplink and downlink are at different frequencies in the US on all the equipment I have ever worked with. Have never heard of cellular equipment that uses the same frequencies for uplink and downlink.

    I believe the GSM standard requires different uplink and downlink frequencies also.

    Actually it could change something, if Apple is required to be able to delete the data on request then the data can not be anonymized. Unless the bill says that the requirement to delete data on request does not apply to anonymized data.

    I do not agree. Most Americans could not afford HDTV in the early years and until very recently there was not the programming to justify getting it. I have had a HDTV for about 4 years now and only in the last year has programming in HDTV really been available. The line doubling of regular TV is nice but not really worth it to most people. If the cable companies can agree on a standard for digital cable then I expect HDTV to get higher adoption rates.

    There is also the 4 pin vs 6 pin plug. Apple
    has always used the 6 pin put most PCs use
    the 4 pin plug. They are both in the 1394 spec
    so it is not a matter of not following the
    standard but rather of different design choices
    probibly due to cost. This was a problem for
    early i-pods since the docking station could
    not get power on a PC.

    In my area Twin Cities/Minnesota for RoadRunner
    cable internet service you do not need to get
    cable from TimeWarner as part of the package.
    They just place a trap on the cable to prevent
    you from getting the channels.
