well, it's okay for supermarket chocolate, but it isn't worth proper Belgian choc's such as : Leonidas or Pierre Marcolini (or even good old Côte d'or is tastier)
If it ain't broke... but apart from that, have you tried it? In a completly unscientific way I compared a few searches in msn and google... and msn gave [shudder] more relevant results [/shudder]
I remember reading that most graphic card sales are in the budget end, but the high end cards create the buzz to sell the budget ones (along the following reasoning : wow, if a GeForce 6800 Ultra can do 2000fps in Quake, then a GeForce 6200 can be that bad)
Actually, owning a supposedly crappy sofwtare card (Pinnacle PCTV Stereo) http://www.pinnaclesys.com/ProductPage_n.asp?Produ ct_ID=1480 and a classy PVR-350, I am actually suprised of the results. On a beefy P4 machine , the recordings from the software card look better than those of the Hauppage, which has a lot of 'ghosting' especially on faces. That said, the PVR-350 runs great on a 2400+ sempron, and nothing beats the quality of it's tv-out for replay, especially with GB-PVR http://www.gbpvr.com/
But firefox and quake2 aside, what can it actually run ??? Me thinks you need a better reason to build your own OS than "it's not Windows", else it will only be playing catch up with all other existing os's
Who makes a better media player?
Apple. The combination of iTunes and Quicktime.
And who also includes them in their OS ?... I don't see the difference in between MS forcing IE and Media Player upon the user and Apple with Safari and Quicktime/iTunes, could someone point out how come MS is considered evil for doing this and not Apple
A great deal of the features that FireFox users rave about came from Opera, and every version brings even more innovation. It's even smaller and faster than FireFox too (IIRC.)
agreed, but with Firefox extension model, you don't have to have them all, although with Opera you don't have to hunt down / install/ update as much
point 2 : I totaly agree, a good game that can give you endless hours of amusement is worth the money (eg compared to the price of a DVD which only gives you 2 hours)
learning how to actually use of a computer has costs too (plus running it: electricity, monthly subscription/call costs). So no, computers aren't easily accessible for the (ultra) poor
I've been playing vg's since my dad brought back a C64 with games on tape. I must admit that in the last few years work and other realities have prevented me investing the time I used to in gaming. The problem I find is that many games require investing too many consecutive hours. Games that force me to play 70 hours plus (Planescape Torment, Final Fantasy X) just to finish them, to unlock all levels (Timesplitters 2) to l are getting a bit tedious (not even counting the time spent on the web reading about how to get to upgrade my charachter properly,...). And don't even bother trying loading a saved game you haven't played for 6 months, because you've forgotten about the quests ,... As for MMORPG's I have many friends involved in them, but I just can't imagine paying a monthly subscription for a game I probably won't play more than 6-8 hours/month (and that would be in the first months), not even counting the fact that I probably wouldn't get much further than the fishing and chopping wood levels !
dude, I've claiming this for years, no broadband until you pass the test !

FYI Skynet (http://www.skynet.be/) is Belgium's main ISP
and you forgot the main feature, it indexes content, not just file names (+ pdf content which google desktop search can't do yet)
totally agree, then the fanboys will tell you 'Were getting spotlight soon', to which I would reply 'IF you PAY for the upgrage'
yeah, poor Art get's a lot of that ...
This is a just an apple-lover's way of saying "My iPod is bigger than your portable music player"
obligatory nitpick : In C=64 Basic it should be LOAD "*",8,1
According to the news on French tv, people such as doctors will be able to receive calls (if ask for it) and everybody will be able to call outside
the metric system works fine in Europe you insentive clod !
