So has anyone managed to solve this problem? Until it has been, I wont be driving any modified car to run it.
Hydrogen embrittlement is the process by which various metals, most importantly steel, become brittle and crack following exposure to hydrogen. It is not completely understood. Detection of hydrogen embrittlement in welds and fabricated parts is more difficult than detection of oxidative corrosion (rust).
The basic corrosion mechanism begins with hydrogen atoms diffusing through the metal as an interstitial. In steel (an alloy of iron and carbon)exposed to hydrogen at high temperatures, hydrogen will diffuse and combine with carbon to form tiny pockets of methane at internal surfaces like grain boudaries, voids etc.. This methane does not diffuse out of the metal, and collects in small voids on the grain boundaries at high pressure. These pockets then initiate cracks in the bulk material. This process is known as hydrogen attack and leads to decarburization of the steel and general loss in strength. Hydrogen embrittlement, on the other hand, is a room temperature phenomenon where hydrogen present inside the material makes it brittle. High-strength steels, aluminum and titanium alloys are most susceptible.
Hydrogen embrittlement can be facilitated during various manufacturing operations or operational use, anywhere where the material comes in contact with atomic or molecular hydrogen. Processes leading to this include cathodic protection (especially when not properly controlled), phosphating, pickling, and electroplating. A special case is arc welding, in which the hydrogen is released from moisture in the coating of the welding electrodes; to minimize this, special low-hydrogen electrodes must be used for welding high-strength steels. Another mechanism of introduction of hydrogen into metal is galvanic corrosion, chemical reactions of metal with acids, or with other chemicals (notably hydrogen sulfide in sulphide stress cracking, or SCC, a process of importance for the oil and gas industries).
If the metal has not yet started to crack, the condition can be reversed by removing the ambient hydrogen source to cause the hydrogen within the metal to diffuse out and restore ductility to the metal. Susceptible alloys after chemical or electrochemical treatments, where hydrogen is produced, are often subjected to baking heat treatment, in order to remove absorbed hydrogen.

If these girls are going to kill themselves no matter what. First I would ask them to get help. Second, I would have them commited to help.
Third... if all else fails. Lets just have one giant fuck-fest. Let's just enjoy one moment of pleasure. Besides, we can't have chicks die virgins. Such a waste.:(
Yes. That's all well said and true. But know that, this move would lift a HUGE Barrier to entry cost. For example, lets say I wanted to develop "gadget-X". Given the current market of litigation, patent infringment put the fear of God into potential investors. As such, only companies with deep pockets will take the risk. So now we have two factors.
1. Microsoft has the largest user installed base in the market. 2. Microsoft is willing to foot the bill for legal IP issues that might otherwise put you off on developing "gadget-X"
Now, from a pure entrepreneur aspect Microsoft is your friend. If you want to play like the devil, you must learn to dance with him.
From what I understand, Microsoft and SGI worked togeather to incorporate some features and technologies of OpenGL into DirectX. I suspect MS may end up purchasing the IPs that make up OpenGL from them. At this poing, it could be called MSGL (Microsoft GL).
Of course, IP ownership of OpenGL may have nothing to do with SGI nowdays. Thus, it's a moot point.
Nature seems to think the human race is more adaptable at surviving through obtaining and keeping close social ties. The fact the majority of humans are extroverts proves it. Obviously intelligence is important too. But a dumb extrovert is better at surviving with the help of friends than a lone intelligent human (introvert) out on his own.
Face it. Unless you can play the social game and kiss lots of ass, don't look to cutting a fat paycheck over your extroverted brethren. Unless of course, you're truly a unique and gifted geek that stand out among the rest of your peers.
What a dumb fucking idea. Way to go Microsoft. I'm sure whom ever came up with this bright idea will get a raise and a pat on the back.
Seriously, Why...WHY would you limit your potential consumer base! No one in their right mind would upgrade to windows Vista just for a/b game. I personally was looking forward to Halo 2, but not anymore. Microsoft, do yourself a favor and don't release it at all. It's better PR for you.
That wouldn't have been a problem had they educated themselves on topics BEYOND religion. But when your poor and all you know is religion...your fucked....and the rest of the world passes you by because you have nothing to offer.
It simply wouldn't cut where it hurts (apparently unlike the depictions of Mohammed).
Bullshit!
To this day, the Piss Christ is still shrouded in controversy. At least Christians aren't asking for the heads to be chopped off or the decimation of every man, woman, and child in western countries. Want to guess what religious culture im referring too? It's easy. Give it a try...
China (the government, not it's citizens) doesn't give a rats-ass about science. To the government, going to the moon is all political. Sure, you can say the same thing about our Apollo missions brought forth by KFK. However, at least science was also conducted. With China on the other hand, I expect them to land on the moon just for the tee-shirt.
They came, they saw, now it's legendary for the CCP. Case closed, funding cut.
Being a Time Warner Employee, I can say for sure that the Digital Phone service has been a smashing success. I remember at various times we couldn't keep up with the orders and installation quotas.
Of course, every once in awhile I will troubleshoot a customers internet connectivity issue only to find out later they had a router connected that provides Lingo or Vonage service. Nothing like rebooting a cable modem remotely only to find out instantly you lost the conversation.:D
Anyways, I'm curious to see the sales metrics and subscriber numbers between Vonage, Lingo, and TWC Digital Phone service. No wonder why the baby bells are freaking out. Such a loss of power and control is leaving them to grasp at straws to hold onto the status-quo.
1. We are at war with radical Islam 2. We've gone through the dot-com bubble 3. We got hit by several devistating hurricanes. 4. Bush is taking political pot-shots left AND right.
Yet, we have unemployment at an all time low now. However, some sacrifices are needed now. So would you please shut the hell up about this anti-christian retoric?
People (at least the ones I know) do not clean their bathroom for health reasons. They do it because it's it's visually discusting. Now matter how healthy this new substance is, it will NOT get rid of the yellow stains on and around the toilet.
Depends on how much that football actually is worth. Say for example such a football sold for a hundred thousand dollars. In this case, it would be worth paying a few grand to have the DNA sequence tested and verified for authenticity.
Now if it's worth only a grand, chances are some sucker will plunk his cash down without actually going through all the trouble. In such cases, getting away with counterfeiting is much more likely.
Because Symantec has one of the (of not the best) anti-virus research organizations around, I don't mind using their products. But, their consumer products have grown in bloat and complexity far beyond user friendliness.
As such, I use Norton Anti-Virus corporate edition 10. It's basically a simple GUI mounted on the engine with virus defs. Simple, clean...and effective.
Too bad Symantec doesn't market this version to the masses. It's the best version and the most easy to use IMHO.
Now, when it comes to experiments, then of course ethics can be important in the experiments; but that has nothing to do with the method.
Yes, that's what I mean being that experimentation is part of the scientific method. So in fact, the scientific method in its purest form ignores ethics. In fact, the idea of ethics and morals are a human trait invented by our society. Just as mathematics are impartial, so too is the scientific method.
And you'll find that any experiments which pose ethical problems - which essentially means anything involving animals or humans - have to be vetted by an ethical standards board.
What ethical standards board, and by whose standards in what country? During WW2 both the Germans and Japanese thought their scientific experiments were ethical. None the less, the modern world has learned a great deal of knowledge from these experiments. Whether the ends justifies the means will always be open to debate. But you get the idea.
The point I'm trying to make is this. Just because Bush is against human cloning and other such human experiments does not mean he's against science as a whole. I'm not defending or praising Bush's stance on this subject of biology. I AM however defending Bush from all the slashbots saying Bush is against ALL science. You and I both know such rhetoric is BS and devoid of rational (and intellectual) thought.
The problem is rooted in human psychology. For example, when I'm ready to compose my thoughts and ideas to written format, I don't want to be talking aloud in thin-air. I find the prospect of eavesdroppers to be unnerving. Flat out, it makes me feel insecure. As such, I like to keep my thoughts and ideas private on paper via typing in an office environment or out in the public. When I'm ready to be heard, I will send the text document via e-mail or printed format. If asked, I will hold a public speech.
Under no circumstances do I want people questioning or having thoughts about my rough drafts as I'm speaking them out allowed.
How dare you!! Nothing is more important then tea. To the british, tea is everything.
Now stop your whining and go back to your tea....err....climate modeling.
So has anyone managed to solve this problem? Until it has been, I wont be driving any modified car to run it.

So true.
Fire can burn you, or it may save your life in the cold.
Nuclear energy can provide energy to millions of homes, or it can vaporize millions.
Bio-technology could provide imortality, or it can wipe out every man women and child on earth.
In the future... The ability to create a star, or be used to wipe out an entire star system.
Such ballances never change, only the fact they become more dynamic on the scale of life and death as humanity marches on with progress.

Bush has ethics.
The scientific method ignores ethics.
Two things. Either Bush is anti-science, or he is merely trying to inject morality and ethical thinking into the scientific community.
I'll tell you why.
