You have to keep in perspective that our bodies are formed from the very mass that makes up this planet in the first place. And and when we die, it will return back to the ground.

Which is kind of gross when you think about it. Imagine some of those water molecules in my piss now being recycled back into drinking water....and the cycle continues.

I'm sorry I don't have any links. But, I heard from a friend that the FCC just made it so that the owner of the WiFi router is totally responsible for all traffic going to and fro. So, if you have a neighbor surfing for kiddie-porn, YOU will be busted.

If this being the case, I would just explicitly allow only websites and domains that you approve of that does NOT contain such material. But, I'm not sure how I would stop an anonymous user from uploading a virus to someone else e-mail account. Sounds securing the WiFi link from all outside anonymous activity is the only option to legally protect you.

Wrong. It would alienate them from the rest of the industry.

A prime example is Sony. They have have flash memory audio player too on the market. Their problem is that it doesn't play MP3s directly. The reason is due to their support for DRM. So...the force user to convert their files to ATRAC. For the average Joe, it's too much trouble to be bothered with.

So I have a question for you Mr AC. Do you not have any faith? Do you believe that when you die, that's it...game over? Maybe that asumption is correct. And just to play devils advocate, lets say that this is *it*. Perhaps now you should relize how lucky you are to be alive and even dwell on this topic. But then again....you would rather have negitive attitude and cut people down for having such faith. It's sad really, I pitty you.

Right. Also, for the average Joe Sixpack, electronic devices are complex as it is. Why would you want to flood the market with another audio standard when MP3 is the defacto standard everyone has come to know and love. I'm not bashing OGG, but in this cut-throat industry, OGG came to little to late.

Speaking of defacto standards, just wait till portible DivX players become all the rage. Soon, ripping DVDs to a jukebox device will become the norm just as it is for CDs to MP3.

  12. Re:500kbps? on iRiver Adds Ogg To Audio Player Firmware · · Score: 1

There are diminishing returns for each step-up in bitrate you go. So even at 500, OGG is not what you want to be going with for achivel quality (same with MP3 or any other compression format). And here, we are talking about portable devices with limited space anyways and the use of ear buds.
