Instead of sending mechanical rovers out, why not send a conscious machine? The uploading of the self into a machine is a far greater goal than space exploration, and doable on Earth.
It is likely that we don't even need flight to transcend humanity. Isolate the area of consciousness in the brain, and put it in charge of a silicon computer. Then it's trivial for a single highly protected, highly intelligent sentient being to go to Mars (if he would even want to).
It's just a lot more elegant to be able to scan or print anything. It's all just bits--ones and zeros--in the end. Some sort of detection scheme adds complexity, and subtracts elegance.
It shows that the company thinks people are stupid enough to fall for the penny-less trick. It may prevent employee theft in physical stores, but online it has no use except to confuse. I for one would much rather buy music for just plain a dollar.
I've heard of floats used in audio before. Is this the upgrade to the usual 24 (18h) bit studio quality?
Video cards are going towards a 20h-bit float as well for internal processing. Hmm, an audio/video card would be nice.
I suppose the instant reaction for a geek should be "anarchy! no laws!". So let's add trademarks to the copyright and patent laws that need repealing. Anarchy worked for a looong time before any system of laws was written up, so it can't be that bad. We even evolved under anarchy.
Love seems clear, but what is music? Here, it is meant as harmonious randomness. And those are the main themes in this theory of everything.
About skeptics. Skepticism is the way to distinguish truly wrong theories from others. Nothing here can be shown to be false currently.
Free Will.
Can generate randomness.
Seeks love and music.
Are all identical.
Free Will as a concept does not change from person to person.
God.
Can generate true randomness.
Has no storage or input.
Without storage or input, God remains outside of time. This gives him the power to generate an entire universe all at once.
Outputs quantized information.
Seeks music.
God, then, actually has a subset of the powers of every sentient being. God cannot love, cannot store. God is essentially a random number generator. This is a deist philosophy.
An entity is the self. It consists of free will coupled with storage.
This is the "soul" concept common in religions.
a. The amount of entities is finite, unchanging, and even.
There can be no creation or destruction of them. See the story below for why it should be even.
Each has no beginning.
Each has no end.
Each has a non-quantized infinite storage of previous (quantized) input from seats of consciousness.
It is infinite because there was no beginning to the storage. Because it is infinite, it contains all that can be experienced. However, it is ordered by time.
It can only be added to, never deleted. It has been shown that completely erasing memories, while interesting to science fiction, is very hard to do. No matter what part of the brain is damaged, there remains some recollection of ingrained memory.
Scientific testing of this hypothesis is difficult. Remembering a specific address or phone number would be conclusive proof, but that is not the nature of this storage. It is more the stuff of dreams--fleeting.
Output is not stored. The output may be fed back as input and stored, though. Note that God has output but no storage.
Sorry, L. Ron, there can be no "out of body" experience.
The storage cannot be shared directly. It must go through systems.
Telepathy can be thought of as a direct sharing of this storage between minds. Skeptics have convincingly shown no paranormal exchange of information.
The beings spoke of in the beginning were not entities until the universes started.
A seat of consciousness is the physical carrier of the entity.
The seat presumably is somewhere in the brain. As many animals do seem sentient, it is probably in an older part of the brain that evolved long before humans. We are finding that all sensory information converges on certain areas such as the thalamus. This is part of the limbic system--an evolutionarily old system--which holds promise when looking for the seat of coniscousness.
A system, a "sentient being", is the fusion of one entity with one physical seat of consciousness.
This, then, is a sentient being. Humans are sentient beings, but likely not the only ones. The weight of evidence shows that areas associated with sentience are shared with many other animals.
Artificial intelligence will, thus, always be just that--artificial. No network of connections between computers will ever be conscious. This is a refutation of strong AI.
It has a beginning.
Likely in the womb. It may be inactive (unconscious) initially, which would be significant. When it becomes active, this is when sentient life begins.
It seems like it would generate a lot of false positives. If you train on computer lingo and someone writes you some poetry, won't that get booted? Perhaps it's not as good for those with eclectic activities. White-listing or challenge response would be the only ones I'd consider if I start getting too much spam.
Uploading or capturing to add sentience to a machine will make air unnecessary.

Good news is always welcome.
Leading to the Singularity. A geek who isn't transhumanistic just hasn't heard of it.
"He said he was grateful that Sony gave such advance notice about its PSP plans so that Nintendo could develop a competing product."
Posting on this subject is getting old. I just want to study neurology.
Ah, so this is the "slash-bot" effect. You are all so intelligent and unique!
There needs to be some air circulation, and that will lead to heat loss.
Everything else should adapt to the need for elegance.
Why do you need to say "What happened to" as if everything was perfect in the past? Present an argument not based in time.
It's just a lot more elegant to be able to scan or print anything. It's all just bits--ones and zeros--in the end. Some sort of detection scheme adds complexity, and subtracts elegance.
Open source hardware too. The driver could hide it while the printer does the checking.

It's copyright infringment.
This makes up for all the flamebait ratings I get for arguing copyright should be abolished. Moron.
Unless they no longer have the original, it is not theft. It is copying.
A quote is attributed to a name. Quotes, like all information, exist outside of time.
Ah ha!

The system is not just inactive-
It's commonly known among intelligent people.

Time is mixed base (none of which are decimal!), 0x18/0x3C/0x3C. In effect, AM/PM is making it 2/0xC/0x3C/0x3C.
