I guess I should have added that so far from the research I've done it appears that DLP is the way to go...would be nice to have something validate what my research has shown me.
I've been looking around for a good review of the HDTVs themselves...something unbiased that will compare rear, lcd rear, dlp, plasma, etc and perhaps recommend a few.
You obviously haven't done any looking around have you? Almost every store that sells XM sell the exact unit you want (i.e. the one I have). It allows you to move it in and out of your car and to another car or in your home etc.
I love my XM, however I have to dis-agree with you. I travel to and from work (about 50 miles round trip) M-F and I know of at least 2 bridges that consistently (as in every damn friggin time) I loose my XM reception.
But I would still recommend (and I do) XM to anyone with at least a 20 minute drive to work one way.
Just another reason for me to never use another search engine again (not that I have in over 2 or 3 years anyway).
Several times I've been on the road and thought "If I could just get to a local computer a do a quick google search"...and even though I can use my phone to "surf" the web (if you can even call it surfing) it's pricey and the interface sucks. Now I can just SMS it to google!!! Ugh! I love google!!!
Too bad it hasn't been ported to the 5600 yet (at least not last time I checked).....I've been using the Sharp Rom holding out for the pdaX one to be available.
Or something like Cobind. It's based on Fedora and it's very minimal yet functional; everything you need, nothing the average user doesn't (i.e. no gcc, no multiple versions of an office suite, no multiple browsers, etc, etc).
Ah...my bad...turns out I'm using a different theme for FireFox (Nautilus 0.8) which uses a pair of sunglasses for the button (not a box of crayons).
Thanks!
Funny, I have an HP Pavillion that has these modems/soundcards. For the longest time I've used the Linuxant drivers until I switched my kernel to 2.6. Linuxant has been really slow at updating their stuff for 2.6 so I've been without sound (don't really use the modem). This past weekend I bought a generic Alsa compatible soundcard on ebay. Never realized or payed any attention to the fact that my kernel had been tainted all this time....it would have been nice to at least know.
Sorry to be such a noob, but I use FireFox and I don't have a button for chaning between CSSs...I though it was perhaps an extension but I don't see anthing like that on the extension download page either.
how about just:
mplayer -rootwin somemovie.mpg
Seems simple enought to me. And you can even run the movie in another window (not just the desktop). Mplayer is the shiznit.
Cool. I wrote a couple of awk and expect scripts along with a cron job that checks my router's IP address (outside addy given to me by my ISP) every hour and sends me an email whenever it changes.
When it does change (maybe twice a year) I go to my domain forwarding service and update it:-) If I was really/. material I'd have the script do the last part as well!
I don't understand...the link does indeed show that it was posted on their site Mar-2-2004 however I downloaded these exact same drivers back in January!!! I went ahead and downloaded it again anyway and the filename/version etc is all the same (this is for the 9200)?!?! So I don't get it.
...less of an issue with HD radio out right? I just got an add from Kenwood promoting their HD Radio receiver. So if AM/FM is now broadcast digitally encoded then you should either get 100% clear or not right?
I'd be curious to here opinions/thoughts on this as well because I was thinking of searching for the code (just out of curiousity) but now I'm having second thoughts. Plus being that I used to use VC++ I've seen some of there code before anyway (MFC etc).
Have you seen the new X11 ROMS from cacko? They're only for the 700 series right now but I was told (via email) that the 5600 is in the works.
This will truly make the Zaurus a powerfull workhorse...full blown Linux/X11 in the palm of your hand.

Try:
SkyFi

I agree that QNX is alive and well but it is not the most popular in the embedded world. That would be WindRiver's VxWorks last time I checked.
Hmm...I downloaded 2.6.7 and did a make oldconfig, said N to most of the new stuff (all but one if I remember correctly) and during compile I got:
:-)
drivers/scsi/cpqfcTScontrol.c:610:2: #error This is too much stack
drivers/scsi/cpqfcTScontrol.c:722:2: #error This is too much stack
Oh well, I'll stick with 2.6.6 for now...I'm not running any "lame free-shell access" accounts on my box anyway

I guess I should have read everyone elses' post before I replied; apparently others noticed the same thing I did.

SAWEET!!!! I didn't know Google had that! Thanks for the link!

...does it run Linux?

My ATI 9200 card works with the drivers I downloaded from ATI.com. Kernel = 2.6.1.
Does this mean I now have to sell my Zaurus 5600 and buy the 760 to get a decent X11 based distro!!! Doh!
