    Correct me if I'm wrong here but aren't the Xeons currently 32 bit? Doesn't that mean they can't address more than 4 Gigs? I thought that's what the whole big deal was with 64 bit. Now maybe if they were G5s...

    One thing I appreciated about Apple is their tendency to use verbs- For instance TextEdit's buttons read (Don't Save) (Cancel) (Save) instead of Yes and No. Safari's Add Bookmark pane reads (Cancel) (Add). It's just better that way.

    Oh yeah and to keep this on topic, my brother and I just got our mom an eMac and it works well for her (and her 5673 digital pictures).

    Huh? I assume you have found thePreview application and used it? You are a Sun/Solaris admin and you just replaced my good old Blade 100 with a G5 and you haven't tried preview for pdfs. Anymore using Acrobat makes me feel like I've been doing Acrobatics. Use Preview, it's faster and better.

    The Apple Scroll Disk allows for uninterrupted continuous scrolling- this is not possible with one finger on my Clie's Jog Wheel or my Logitech's Scrollwheel.

    Totally better to quickly and accurately scroll through long lists without lifting and starting over.

    I just got back from MWSF and I have to say if you haven't seen an iPod Mini, you need to find one and play with it. The pictures don't even do it justice (sometimes I forget how small the regular iPod is). the interface with the buttons behind the touch wheel is awesome and makes for fast, simple navigation. If you only need 4 gigs (I know, no one is raising their hand) then you need a iPod Mini.

    Which is exactly the reason I got a 20 gig iPod. My library is about 12 gigs right now which leaves me quite a bit of room to grow (I'm not going to say no one will ever use more than 20 gigs [read:640K] ).

    I'd have gone for the 40 gig but the 20 is thinner. Check out the difference before you buy.

    Darwin was actually a religious man. He never really pitted his theory evolution up against God. He didn't see any reason why the two things ought to be mutually exclusive.

    Is not the same thing as Draganfly Which has four rotors that do not rotate into the shape of a fixed wing aircraft. and no, sadly there's no X-50A Drive.

    Alternatively, of course, the XGP has Sub-Ether drive and some fancy grappler arms.

    I opened it in a new tab and it displays the first 3/4 horizontally fine, then it clips to white. Still I was happy that it opened up ok.

    Unless of course, SCO sues Apple. Then some Apple Zealot is bound to go on a SCO rampage.

    Maybe it would be good for people who can't (or at least) shouldn't use a mouse anymore. I know at least one person that uses a tablet instead of a mouse because of his CTS.

    In addition it would certainly be nice to be able to have more than one focus point on your screen- especially in real time programs like audio and video production (even in non-realtime app, like if you've ever played with Reason you know what I mean). There's also something to be said for increased precision when you don't have to hold down the mouse button.

    All in all I think it's best that we not shoot down new ideas simply for being new and different. If we always did that we'd never get anything done.

    Actually It does all that right now (in 10.3). Just change the font and AA comes on Alpha Blending & semi transparency are supported (fun to CLI over DVD). And now with 10.3, your final wish. Though I don't think F9 is the default you can change it.
