  1. You know what I'm waiting for? on Three Metal Gear Solid Titles In the Works · · Score: 1

I'm waiting for another MG game for a Nintendo system! Twin Snakes rocked and created a bunch of Nintendo fanboys that aren't willing to buy a PS, but are willing to buy a sequel if it comes out for their favorite system.

It's not so much the cost that makes it wrong. The government should not be competing with what is potentially a brewing industry. Also, the government should not do it because the government has a tendency to do things wrong. If Verizon was your carrier and they were doing it wrong, you could stop supporting them. If it's the government, you're stuck with it.

  10. Thrift stores on Repercussions of the EB Buyout · · Score: 1

I've been getting most of my PC games at a large thrift store that's close to me. Got the Sims 2 brand new in a damaged box for $12, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 brand new in a damaged box for $5, Redneck Rampage for $2, Redneck Rampage Rides Again for $2, and Diablo for $2. Hunting for this stuff is fun!

  11. Re:Deletes unused services on servers?!?! on Security for the Paranoid · · Score: 1

Very good point. Of course, having extra services running is still a security vulnerability since you're less likely to pay attention to keeping things secure that you don't use. And if you're like me, you don't like the thought of having extra stuff taking up space on your hard drive since you can never seem to have enough hard drive space.

I was at Duke in November to participate in the ACM. My team got stuck in a room with a Sun terminal. Oh boy did we get screwed in that regard!

The only window manager that worked on it was CDE which was butt ugly and difficult to use, vim was configured in a way that was completely different from anything we had ever used, and the Sun keybaord had many keys in different positions! Not that we would have won, but the High Point University freshman team may have done a little better.

Forklifts in warehouses can be difficult creatures. In the summer when I don't have school, I work at a place where sometimes I need to drive a forklift with flat, solid tires on a wet, greasy floor. It's a bit like ice skating at times, so determining the speed of the forklift could be quite difficult.

I've played video games since I was about 4 years old and they're a major hobby of mine. I also have a girlfriend. She's into doing manual photography. She takes pictures of stuff whenever she gets the chance. You gotta learn to try new things. Sometimes she comes over to my room and we'll play some Mario Kart. Sometimes we go outside and take pictures, and we've both come to enjoy the things the other likes to do. Now after all the time we spend together, we're more than just boyfriend and girlfriend; we've become best friends. To me, I think becoming each other's best friend is the best thing that can happen in a relationship like this and is a real sign of long-term compatability.
