  1. Well its most likely not going to be humans flying these things, at least at first. And if they did fly them they will be highly automated. Its not hard to setup a new infrastructure computer system that controls the sky level that these things will be flying in, different levels have different directions. When you fly over the treetops and buildings, your obstacle avoidance isn't that hard. There will be virtual roads seen by the heads up display in the flying car thing, so you will see roads boundaries and stoplights and other traffic that is tagged and entrance and exit ports. Watch The Fifth Element for some flying excitement. 100 years from now we will all be amazed how we ever got along without flying cars.

  2. Stock Price on Snapchat Files For a $3 Billion IPO (theverge.com) · · Score: 2

Ok so the Stock started at $178.42.
The Stock Ended the day at: $169.90 (Low of $133.00)

The Snap IPO filing also discloses a lot of elements of the Snapchat company that may scare investors off, or at least they should.
For one thing, there's the shareholder-unfriendly corporate governance structure that gives 26-year-old CEO Evan Spiegel near absolute control,
or the fact that Snap says it doesn't have any intention of paying cash dividends, possibly ever.
or how absurdly expensive it will be, Snapchat has reportedly been seeking a $25 billion valuation.
Snapchat's parent company is asking for a valuation of nearly 62 times its revenue. (Snap lost $515 million last year, or 38% more than it lost in 2015. )

Snap warns in its IPO filing that its expenses are also increasing rapidly, and could outpace revenue growth for a long time. The number of Snapchat employees for one, more than tripled to 1,859 in 2016.

Investors are betting on a future dream of earnings that is still so far away, it may disappear before that day ever comes.

    So where is the growth?
Snap's sales are growing fastest in other parts of the world besides the U.S. and Europe, increasing 53% in the fourth quarter year over year there, but only 39% in North America. Still, the U.S. and North America account for about 90% of Snap's overall revenue.

Probably best to wait a bit on this to see what happens.

So how will this affect 3D movies? The main selling point for going to the theater was that you can watch it in 3D, at a higher ticket price. But now that the after market will be going away, will they still continue to make 3D movies? When I watch a 3D movie, I see it there, but after the movie is over, it's not like I remember the 3D effect.

AI will be used by both good and bad people, just like the internet and you can't stop it and you can't put in controls so that it only makes the decisions you want. Do we have $10 million dollars to show that all of the teachers on the planet make good decisions for the kids they teach? No, all you can do is test them and verify that they have some soft of formal education. So I guess all the AI's will have to take the ethical 101 course if they are going to be used in the public.

I started out programming Apple II+ and while it was fun learning assembly and peeks and pokes and breaking apart everything, you just could not do what you can today. (I consider that generation of kids in the 1980's to be the first digital generation.) Yes I know trying to stuff all that code into 64K was something you just can't do today, but the programs are more complex and the hardware is more complex. Its like saying well Black and White TV was great and the shows were great.. yes, but HD TV in color is much crisper and nicer, people don't remember what analog TV is anymore and how bad the picture was. Put yourself in this position, as I do on several occasions. If you had to go back to your younger years, what device would you take with you to make programming more fun then? Yes everything was new and that generation has lived through one of those periods in human kind where things where a first. Like when they first discovered how to fly, do you think it was more fun then to fly then now? Today there is so much available, books and code and game engines, graphics cards, mico-controllers, Linux, that one person can use to do almost anything, and do it quite fast... It is so easy to get a good education without going to school with so much online. I wish I had all this when I was a kid, There is so much fun stuff to do today, so many new ideas, games, apps and ways to go about doing it that I can't write systems fast enough to do all those ideas I want to do. Try building and running a Neural Network in 1982 and tell me that was fun compared to what you can do today. Give me today and the future over living in nostalgia and only remember the good fun new things. The only constant is change.

I don't understand why drivers expect to get all these benefits for working part time, they signed on to work for them, they can get another job if they don't like the situation, or they just expect that because it's a big company they should get more? then the prices for fares will rise.
