The real question will be the socio-political impact based upon the consequences and the impact on the lives of people living in at risk locations either through flooding or adverse changes in localised weather patterns. We are talking something like a billion people being severely affected.
So a billion people going nuts and reacting violently, how will that impact the economy, well pretty much fuck it up into non-existence. So how severe will the socio-political impact be and what steps will be taken out to prepare for the disruptions ahead to limit the negative impact upon humanity as a whole, as it will affect everyone.
Trying to imagine that our current socio-political structure will just keep on stumbling through this crisis with no real change, the rich continuing to live to extreme excess and the shrinking middle class will just have to get used to less a whole lot less or else, is really naive. Business vs government, let's see, how many times in human history have governments gone bankrupt this versus how many times in the last week have businesses gone bankrupt. Business track record absolute shite.
Well if the problem is seasonal labour than some out of the box thinking would likely be more successful in the long run. So perhaps very low shrub blueberry bushes grown in a floating aquaponic systems under artificial conditions with continuous on rotation cropping. So better labour management combined with maintaining product quality, reduced land use, reduced water use and reduced transport costs. So problem with picking blueberries, come up with a better blueberry bush and better growing systems. This to create two markets farmed versus wild blueberries.
The problem is far more underlying than that. Basically the core problem is idiot right wing performance based knee jerk from the gut metrics with cost as the primary consideration, even over performance. The problem is core socio-political systems that create the environment for corrupt methods to dominate (more claimed success at a lower cost) and for proper methods to be punished (less claimed success at a higher cost). Basically the whole socio-political environment behind these developments is corrupt and as a result produces corrupt outcomes, on purpose. Then it all goes boom and everyone has to run around picking up the pieces, not sometimes but every single bloody time. Saved pennies to spend pounds and the idiots that saved pennies wander off like it was never their fault, now that everyone has to spend pounds to fix their stupid bloody knee jerk from the gut thinking.
I gather from that you must be in China because that would be the only thing that would make any sense ie if you were an American you would appreciate double standards in corporations from China as they would be feeding technology to your nation and would be making their infrastructure dependent upon your countries good will. So you should logically condemn your own countries corporations doubles standards and be cheering other countries corporations double standards (where they benefit rather than harm, think allies rather than ideological opposition).
Face it the US government is pretty much a mess, with different corporate groups pulling in different directions creating a chaotic mess both internally and externally. Undermining each other efforts and the efforts of the government they each in part control because, well, pretty much nothing other than more greed now. All based upon the individuals within those corporations feeding their own ego and lusts first and pretty much basically not giving a fuck what happens after they have gorged themselves to death (along with the rest of us, of course starved more than gorged for us 99%).
There is an alternative outlet for that battery crankiness. Target that crankiness at government. Why is the government not doing more to drive battery research, solar panel research and wind turbine research. Why is it not a global effort, why are we waiting for individual groups to make tiny step, after tiny step, why are we waiting thumb in bum mind in neutral for low lying coastal cities to flood out. We can actually stop pollution our metropolitan environment against our own health by moving away from the infernal combustion engine to electric vehicles. Logically this should be the current main priorities all of us the entire 7 billion of us will benefit from an improvement of health, not having to suck down the fumes from hundreds of millions of vehicles.
