Before any idiots post saying "You're lying! don't be an idiot" - This post is a satirical post critizing the music industry, it has been posted before on slashdot, it is a joke. It is not serious!

Cd baby Works very hard at getting independant music on the ITMS. Cdbaby works as an middle party between the artists who don't really know what to do and Apple who don't have the will to deal with a million artists on individually. Cdbaby then gives the artist a ridiculously large percentage, iirc they can end up with 60c from a 99c song sale.

Don't be silly. The op had a point but the only exception to it that I have found IS podcasting. I don't want to have to click to download an mp3, and drag it into my player and then onto my dap, i want it to be automatic so that when i wake up my dap is updated with the latest. Rss makes this a far simpler process.

Opening my rss agregator is just as easy as opening my web browser, only my browser gives me more information.

You'll find thats not how Australia works. The ACCC is charged to enforce the law which prevents unfair competition.

Key examples of what they do is forcing the major telco not to undercut competitors because it has wholesale ownership of the infrastructure. This theory could easily be applied to not letting people get a pc without windows on it.

    Here is the GNU definition:

``Free software'' is a matter of liberty, not price. To understand the concept, you should think of ``free'' as in ``free speech,'' not as in ``free beer.'' Free software is a matter of the users' freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software. More precisely, it refers to four kinds of freedom, for the users of the software:

    * The freedom to run the program, for any purpose (freedom 0).
    * The freedom to study how the program works, and adapt it to your needs (freedom 1). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
    * The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor (freedom 2).
    * The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements to the public, so that the whole community benefits (freedom 3). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.

What on earth is the point of your esrb rating system if it is not used. It is not as if it stopped me playing GTA:1,2,3 when i was under the recommended age, but the idea was that my parents knew that i was. Incidentally I pirated them so my parents didn't have to pay, but they **knew** what games I was playing.
