Without such a card you would be unable to access ANY medical services in Australia. So while it is not "compulsory" for a healthy person, if you were to fall sick you would have a perfectly free choice: get the card or die.
Unless you want to add ram, or add another HDD the whole concept of PC upgrades is useless. Assuming that the technology hasn't moved on (pic-express was the example you gave but there is a new roadblock every year), you end up spending half the cost of your original pc, and end up with a whole lot of worthless components.
Wait a couple of months till you have saved enough pennies. Get those pennies together and buy a whole new computer. Use the old one to download with bitt torrent, a server or as a fiddly linux box. Upgrades are pointless. Don't bother.
This sounds like a repeat of the XBOX launch. In my city (melbourne) Microsoft spray painted a lot of streets with the green "X" logo, causing a huge fuss in the media about it being graffitti. Seems companies never learn....
Yes you are missing something. When the release was sheduled at the second half of 2006, nobody actually ever expected it to come out before 2010. 2006 is earlier than expected!
A good idea, especially with IM. When you have 20 windows, and you have an msn/whatever window blinking at you annoyingly, having a button that will immediately go to that message sounds handy. It will stop the blinking very quickly! I like it.
Yes but these were the same idiots who were willing to give their credit cards to a company in Russia selling CP. I mean really.... If Australia had the death penalty that would be Darwinism.
your free speech is protected. Students at catholic schools are allowed to blog all they like. But that doesn't mean that private schools have to include all students. Leave the school - Then say what you want about it.
If you had read the article, It states that most kids get their internet through cafe's, and most cafe's have limited open hours and minimum ages for entry. But these limits are decided by provincial governments so it is different in every area.
The internet can be accessed without going through China's censors. First off, you can use a satellite phone. Second off you can use an encrypted phone line, and lastly you can use ssh and a European provider to ensure your communications are not monitored by the government.
I was told this by a linux friend.... and after 12+ hours of him giving me instructions about how to get my netgear card working on ubuntu it finally worked. Restarted... gone again. I ran home to windows and realised that windows has never actually failed me in anything. Haven't started it since.
For the past year, every single month the iTMS "is going to be released this month!" Sony BMG Are bitching like they did for Japan... There were technical difficulties... And it never happens.
When it's up. It's up. Until then it's just like the usual apple rumours - Fake.
Associating credit cards with unique indentifiers that represent a product?! THIS IS SHOCING!
Barcodes are on most products nowadays. Why is this so scary? Because so many of us pay for our purchases with credit or debit cards, which contain our names, addresses, and other sensitive information. Now imagine a store with barcodes embedded in every product. At checkout time, the digital code in each item is associated with our credit card data. From now on, that particular pair of shoes or carton of cigarettes is associated with you.
There are also alternative non-Shockwave versions of three of the volumes. More will be added soon.
This isn't going to be a movie iPod
on
No Video iPod Coming?
·
· Score: 4, Interesting
It's going to be a VIDEO iPod. Did anyone notice that free music videos on iTMS, which used to be updated lots haven't since June? Perhaps apple isn't giving them away because they want to sell them now!
I very much doubt they will launch with movies. If they do it will be limited. They will simply market it as an added extra similar to album art on the color iPods.
But this is the beauty of pay pal.
When paypal transfer money from one account to another the money is still just sitting in Pay Pal's account.
So users Put in $20 for micropayments, it gets moved to 20 different accounts, and each of those accounts gets 20 micropayments. Apart from raw database management costs which are minimal, this is going to cost Pay Pal the same.
That is crazy... In Australia home numbers start in 04, and are longer than normal numbers.... This means there are no area codes for mobiles, and everybody knows what they are calling!
What idiot came up with the idea of not seperating mobile numbers? It just seems like logic... You call somebody who is in a remote area, you pay.
So people on Verizon are actually paying to receive spam smses? Maybe Verizon/FCC need to be looking at their policies instead of suing spammers.
I get most of my phone spam from carriers at the moment anyway! Damn them!
"Dude, I'm going to put this CD on the Internet right away."
"Yeah, dude, that's really lete [sic], you'll get lots of respect."
I was fuming. So they were out to destroy the record industry from right under my nose? Fat chance. When they came to the counter to make their purchase, I grabbed the little shit by his shirt. "So...you're going to copy this to your friends over The Internet, punk?" I asked him in my best Clint Eastwood/Dirty Harry voice.
You don't find that hilarious? Something is wrong with you!
I only rate good songs... Indifference is the worst rating you can give to a song, so i think "0" fits in pretty well
As for Gracenote: perhaps sales on the ITMS could act as a gauge of this. e.g. "This is this artist's most downloaded song and this artist compared to similar ones is bought 5x as much, so our algorithms suggest it should be rated 5" Then once you have downloaded it you can change it if you get the time.

Yeah, and the PS2 didn't help the penetration of DVD players and lower the price of DVD players either! Oh... wait.

I can't see Bill Gates giving anyone a bloody nose. Maybe if Balmer threw a chair at sony....

It's the result of the legal battle.
Not RTFA is fine. But not even reading the summary? You can get a refund.

That is a korea joke... but anyway.

While Bill Gates talks about how content should be hard drive based, The ITMS actually lets you buy epsisodes of lost for $2.
If you are going to make a format irrelevant, provide a viable alternative Bill.
This sounds great. I'd love to help artists but the idea of giving money to the **aa is just disgusting, i refuse to do it.
