    I'm sick of Americans complaining about being behind. In australia the standard internet conenction is 512kb/s. The advertised plans have download limits of 200 meg. There is no such thing as "unlimited" in Australian Technology. Stop complaining, you are tonnes better than us.

    Thats genius. ADOBE! Why can't they create an editable document format. And make it open. This would mean adobe would be able to control a format without actually having to make an office suite. Adobe is the answer. They could take this over so easily.

    Filesharing Would be awesome at this lan. I would go just for that. Also, LANS offer shorter pings so that nobody has an advantage on different servers. It also helps teams look at eachothers strats right in front of them.

    Most of all it turns an online community into a real community. Where people talk and interact. For computer nerds this is an important thing to do every so often.

    Would you want to talk to microsoft sam? I can see this being used for speech to text conversions, but will it be possible to recreate tone, emotion? Why would you want to emulate this in a social situation anyway?

    The Australian film authority refuses to classify games that it would give an "r" rating. So games like theif, gta etc are not released until the game maker promises to edit out the dirty bits. Thief is still banned here, but I think amongst other things Rockstar took the hookers out of gta3 and vc. It might seem like a horrible thing: but it doesn't really matter. I had the American "uncut" version of gta3 when i was 13! It isn't censorship, It's giving control to parents.

    Because unpatched windows machines are bad for the internet. Viruses spread faster on unpatched machines, it is therefore microsoft's duty to make the internet safer for its paying customers by making sure all windows machines are as safe as they can be. Well.. thats the theory anyway. Security for its paying customers has always come second to profits for Microsoft, so this is no surprise

    A perfectly situated "I'm feeling lucky" to the torrent would mean that direct video is irrelevant. Also, interesting that you can read 3 pages of a book searched by google, yet the ip implications of putting video on would make it nearly impossible.

    If they had communications from the disaster, why did it take the international community a week to react. Why did Australia just start sending its ships? Why did the USA helicopters just arrive in Sri Lanka today?

    It seems to me the response to this disaster by governments has been more about public opinion than the welfare of the people involved

    I hate to break your "They can't stop me i pay cash" party, but i think the idea of these serial numbers is so that if the police suspect someone and have evidence to get a warrant tehy can use printer data to secure a conviction.

    For a regular lan gamer, i think that lcd is the only way to go. with response time getting down to 8ms there really is no excuse to carry that 100kg monstrocity around with you to a lan. I play on a 152x, and it is fine, I don't see any ghosting on a 25ms screen. If people say they can, i think it is just a placebo.
