a times new roman guy but I suppose I could very well be part of the problem. I just don't see the issue at all, not to bad mouth either side, but it seems the height of trivial personally.
SLOW NEWS DAY. I am really suprised to find that anyone but a seriuously anal typographer REALLY even cares about what font you use providing it is readable...
It is amongst the WORST pen&paper RP systems still around...If you are going to the trouble of playing a REAL RPG, try a REAL RP system like say...GURPS...
it is about time the D20 system died the horrible death it deserves. God bless Gary Gygax......
oh yeah ad.doublick.* I vaguely remember them...I added a 127.0.0.1 dns entry for them loooong ago. That would probably explain the broken link on the ad-box on THIS VERY PAGE, now wouldn't it:)
the kind that crash servers, it is not like they haven't done it before, but for most purposes I agree with you. In a large scale environment with lots of custom apps. you had better be checking these patches prior to general deployment or you WILL get bitten...*speaks from experience*
That IS the flaw in the model. We the buyers don't DEMAND that, we just WANT a game with some FUN, decent gameplay and a relatively stable release. Instead we get the same fscking crap, redone with better graphics but lacking the fun, the fact that the developer spent 3 times as much remaking a crappy game, and 5 times as much advertising it, is not the consumers fault. Make a great game and you won't HAVE to advertise it...viral word of mouth will do it for you... IMHO the game industry is falling into the same trap the music industry has, spending MORE producing less, and losing any sort of incentive to take a chance on an unproved game type or style, then blaming the loss of profit on pirating....
it should not matter if this comes to pass or not...WTF right does JohnDoe company employee have to bandwidth so he can WORK from home over me so I can play games from home, we both pay the same. I'd say JohnDoe employee's company is a FREELOADING piece of shit and if they want bandwidth, let them provision it and pay for it.
True words...the only ones that care are the ones that got burned, and their close friends. Everyone else is will wait for the knock on THEIR door...
The mere fact that someone spent money on this implies THEY saw a need, and if that source is corporate then the ONLY possible tool of viewing was profit, either lost or losing.
*chuckle* What is really means is we believe that soon we are going to have our 'balls' in a legal vice over what is posted on our boards, so rather than wait for the disaster to happen, we are going to preemptively set up a locked down system requiring verified emails and with unique id's so we can quickly and efficiently surrender that information to the FBI and the Homeland Security Gestapo:) *then again I've been accused of being paranoid*
I worked for a corporation that DID in fact fire a security guard for such an action. A couple was in their car in the parking garage engaged in the oldest pastime, the guard made a copy of the video and it found its' way back inside the company. Note: the garage was a corporate property but was required to admit a certain number of public auto's due to agreements with the local city government. The guard was terminated, NOT for the act of filming the intercourse, but for removing the contents of the tape from company property without permission. As for the couple, they were told to stuff it, in public they ZERO EXPECTATION of privacy. To my knowledge there was no attempt at sales or publishing the segment, the word got around because the guard was showing to other guards and a female security dispatcher overheard and reported it to us... I KNOW this to be fact, because at the time I was working as corporate security and was involved in the initial interviews of all three indiviuals.
...if I have to pay to download content, I am SURE AS HECK going to expect compensation for allowing others to use my costly bandwidth to download the same content. If I am leeching the content I feel no issue with leaving the BT node up for hours and helping everyone else, in a commercial situation that feeling will evaporate INSTANTLY.
the reception was WORSE, the cheap A$$ company in my area, couldn't even deliver basic functions without huge digital artifacts. I have a nice 42" 1500 line capable HDTV monitor that my computer and DVD's love but was totally useless for cable TV, thanks COMCRAP. I DO use an HDTV capable aeriel, here is the SF bay area there are 12 HDTV signals over the airwaves....
They are also attempting to ensure that all relevant emergency information is available to a call center should the need arise...Hard for 911 to find you if your call is routed via Uzbekistan, while you are in Auckland. There is also the issue of maintenance costs which are derived from licensee fee's.

document, suitable for court presentation and you can share that with anyone you feel like.

any number of software releases. Thrown to the publics' mercy, unready for the real world, totally dependent on someone else's goodwill to succeed.

While it may be conducive to spectators, I can with a fair certainty reply gaming is NOT a sport.
in an environment ultimately based on 0/1, by flavor ? :D

then the media and politicians will have to stop using it.
