    i agree. unfortunately, MS has decided that they will not add proper hyperthreading support to 2k, so its XP for me. (incidentally, redhat, mandrake and even knoppix wont detect the hyperthreading properly. maybe my motherboard ?)

    okay, so he didnt describe THE PERFECT upgrade path and you rip him a new one. does he have to qualify every fscking statement ? of course they would have to upgrade hardware. his post want a tutorial on how to do it, it was a quick "Hey, if they knew how much better it was, they would switch". calm fscking down and stop denegrating people because they didnt post perfectly to your satisfaction.

    this in fact is not true. as posted above, normal people will see the ebay.com or microsoft.com part of the URL and think it is legit (on ANY browser). so in fact a url parsing, username and @ symbol check would be a great security feature, and probably take about 3 lines of code to do it. not than I can code for shit. also, I believe Opera already has this security feature.

    its the great salt lake and the part they went over is actually dry.
    the map is just denoting the border of the "lake"

    it IS a hardware firewall. for much less money.

    software firewalls dont handle things like DMZ, DYNAMIC DNS, DMZ pinnholes, etc. etc.

    IPCOP is an alternative (fork) of the smoothwall project. they do a nice job as well. thanks to both groups. Ive been relying on IPCOP for years.

    what would happen before cell phones ? what would happen if your battery was dead ? just playing devils advocate. seems there are the "i have to have this phone, its critical" types, and the "your need to have a phone doesnt override my need for an uninterupted movie/meal/etc". i think most people fall in the middle and try to turn their phones off. the "idiot" in the theater probably just forgot. do you lynch everybody on a first offense ? is it really that big a deal ? people make mistakes. very few people are so rude they leave the ringer on intentionally in a theater. maybe we just need signs at the theater (not building) entrance.
