I'm glad to hear predictions of a cheap unit, I wasn't big on the system till I saw the E3 coverage on TechTV where they showed the Tennis game for it (which uses the controllers as rackets), I was totally sold on it, then I found out Dragon Quest VIII is coming out for WII, SOLD!!! Now if only they released a new Bomber, Man game (err... Bomberman).
Copyright occurs when you send a letter back to yourself which contains the idea you wish to copyright. If the kid stuck it in the library, then it's techically PD. Not everyone automatically gets a copyright just from putting something where others can view it (if that's the case then numerous bands I have automatically got their copyrights, ummmm.... NO!!!)
Something I don't get out of this, was the footage in question Public Domain, because: Under questioning, Mr. Laflamme and Mr. Rheault conceded their role in spreading a video that Mr. Raza, then 15, had made of himself and "left on a shelf in the school TV studio".
It sounds like if the video was left in a school TV studio, then the kid didn't care what happened to the video. This is public domain right? It just so happened that someone video encoded it cause they thought it was funny, or perhaps they did it to make a fool out of Mr. Raza. To me, it sounds like Mr. Raza's parents saw it as a way to make a fast buck, so they sued the pranksters. Perhaps Mr. Raza should of erased the tape?!?
Well other then having a lot of E-Books, I think the main reason people don't read E-Books is cause there used to hardcopy (reading on a screen I guess can hurt peoples eyes). I don't read E-Books as often cause I used to run a text phile BBS (Celestial Sanctum BBS) when I lived in Vancouver, and editing a ton of txt-phile based books tends to burn ya out.
These days there's cool formats avaliable like.PDF and.LIT, things that weren't really avaliable back when I ran the text file BBS. Had those formats appeared when I was running the BBS, I would of converted the TXT files to one of those formats. And speaking of, what the hell is Microsoft thinking about not having a public domain LIT generator (the cost for an app that does LIT is $180 US) there's PDF generators out for free, shouldn't LIT creation be part of there OS, or at least released by a third party? M$ tends to try to make money off stuff there missing, like a Firewall (I run Win2K).

OOOoooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.... things that go boom!
I kept getting nailed with it when I was on EFNet last week, so after getting mad about being kicked off all the time someone told me how to fix the bug/Norton. Problem is, now I've fixed the issue my Norton doesn't scan outgoing email anymore. Ah well... The things I do for IRC connectivity!
I like that, when I originally heard he was charging $7 a month to access the show, it's a dollar amount that's workable. If a show charges over $10 per month though, the show ain't worth subscribing to.
For those confused (as I was) look for the Camera icon to the right of the webpage and it loads up the video. Yeah, they don't show the raw footage, actually it's a news story. Same footage we saw on CHEK-6 TV here in Victoria, B.C.
rox the sox off a blue ox!!! Everyone else, such as Final Fantasy, stole the battle system from this game to use in their own game. If your looking for a good introduction to adventures, Dragon Quest is THE game.
Ya know, it seems Micro$loth seems to steal a lot of ideas only hoping they'll never get fined or have to pay fines that are very miniscule, and usually they steal ideas from 3rd party developers rather then big companies. Ain't it a perfect world we live in?
People have been taping and trading the Who episodes for quite a number of years without the Who empire going under, so I doubt they care about people downloading episodes.
Well I just watched it, and yes it is complete. I think for the first time they just introduced the Doctor without the usual metamorphis when they go from one doctor to the new guy, where is the fun in that?!? I can't wait for more episodes, unfortunately I'm gonna have to download them because no TV stations here will carry the new series.:( Yep, F/X are as cheesy as they've always been, but you watch it for the story more then the effects right?!?
> If everyone here at Slashdot was a musician, the message would be completely different...
I know quite a lot of local musicians, and a lot of them are thrilled whenever I post there EP onto the Usenet (I also include contact information, and background history so that the listener knows what he/she are listening to). Some artists even don't mind MP3s, they'd rather have the music out there then making a dollar from sales of the CD. Go figure, huh? I guess it boils down to the point that some artists like making music, and some artists would rather see the $$$, which is the wrong reason for doing music in the first place.
What was the last few CDs you bought?!? Myself, I tend to buy more independant music then major label work, only because I like to meet the band and swing them a few dollars to show my appreciation (I bought 2 CDs this weekend from bands I saw, total cost = $8!!!). Perhaps this is where the major artists go wrong, if they were more fan friendly and sold there CDs at the gigs, then more fans would buy there CD. But alas, I babble. Peace...

Is it worth seeing an artist and paying thru the nose for the priviledge of seeing said artist?!? And they wonder why people download "free" music.
You know, I wondered the same thing myself.

OK, so why is the user in danger of getting a unit without OS?!? Heh... if I ran a computer shop, I would purposely sell PCs without OSs. :)
Stories I submitted were never posted, yet OMG!!! Ponies did? That's sad.
Strange submissions you people post. OMG that's so cute?!?

Dumb ass stupid link.

I don't know if it helps, but they've shown that footage to death on Chek-6 TV, though they only showed clips of the attack, not the entire thing.

I can make money ripping CDs?!?

How odd, I think they keep forgetting the fact that us Canadians already pay over 20% taxation on blank media.
Kramnik, of course. I mean he was the one to beat Kasparov and become world champ, right?

I still say we should spam those companies who advertise services via E-Mail.
