What is going to be funny is when TF2 arrives on both Xbox and PC. For years, all the people I know who play the Xbox and PS2 have defended the place of FPS games on a console based system. I have been constantly disagreeing over the fact that with a gamepad, you cannot accurately and quickly aim and move fluently. PC's always have better control with the mouse and keyboard.
Now when console FPS plays PC FPS, the results will speak for themselves. This could result in one of two things:
1. Console players will get pissed off with being pwnd by PC users and there will be a mini-revolt against FPS on Xbox/PS3 or;
2. Suddenly, a mouse and keyboard will be the new hot selling attachment for Xbox.
Maybe where you work. Where I work we all put our personal phones on silent when we're at work. So an annoyance they are not. Fingerprint ID would be handy though.
Like if you have kids that use your phone all the time. Or if you leave your phone in the office and don't want people using it to make calls when you're out. Or even the sheer fact that it will act as a deterrent for your average thief.
Not everyone has military grade secrets on their phone, but a vast majority of people who will steal mobile phones won't be interested in the numbers/sms/etc on the phone anyway.
Granted, if people want your info, they will get it.
Great article and I agree with the choices made. That being said, here are my top multiplayer games:
-Halflife (including TFC, DOD and CS) -DooM -C&C Red Alert 2 -Unreal Tournament -Quake III Arena -WoW (never played it personally, but you can't deny it has popularized multiplayer gaming in the mainstream) -KalOnline (sure it's buggy and can be a bit boring at times, but its' free!) -Need For Speed Underground -ReVolt (the remote control car racing game. Not overly popular but heaps of fun when drunk;)) -Battlefield series
There are many more, but these are the ones that spring to mind.
"it would be one in a lifetime for you to see outer space"
Alternatively, one could look in the direction opposite the ground you're standing on. During the night is even more effective. This usually costs nothing at all, although you do have to go outside.
The whole endevour is not intended for the general public, this is out and out a publicity exercise just as all Branson escapades are. The stunt will generate publicity for the normal carrier airline and in turn, generate revenue.
...okay, I think disturbing is a slight understatement when describing the previous post. I think you should really just have a lie down and put the tampons away.
I'm going to have my afternoon coffee now and just pretend I never read that interesting anecdote you shared with us.
With all the marajuana they smoke over there, it'll be 2015 before they realize that they've been watching snow and listening to white noise for the past 8 years....
It's quite apparent that our government is under pressure from the US record companies to do something about our piracy. Which country successfully killed KaZaA? Yup, that was us! We're on the radar now, well and truly.
With that being said, nobody will actually police these laws if they come into fruition. Our government will yell at the RIAA and such scumpanies 'Look what we did! We made a law that will make you all more money', while at the same time turning a blind eye to the little people. People who sell counterfeit and pirated materials on a large scale will still be punished, but those of us who think logically and just use music for our own private use will not be harmed.
My tip is, you'll see another/. article in the following months proclaiming that the law has passed, then no more will be said. The RIAA/MPAA, as much as they think they rule the world, only have jurisdiction in the US.
This new virus just does what welchia did, but takes it up a notch. Maybe sysadmins should adopt a new way of administering across a network using "friendly" viruses. That ideology could be a breath of fresh air. Next time a nasty virus finds its way through your system, maybe figuring out how the virus works and using the same methods, you could send a repair through to not only eradicate the virus, but patch all the systems that the hole applies too.
I work for a computer builder/retailer. Is there a way to download and deploy updates to a newly built PC without changing any settings on the new PC? I want to be able to download updates to a central server and just run a file on that server from a newly built PC and have my pre-downloaded updates installed. That way when the customer gets the unit home, they can just click the WU or let the AU work.
This is proof that the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince has been here on earth since the dawn of time!
How do we hack it so it's 'fun'???? Are there script kiddies out there willing to put a Teradactyl in there?

But it still won't run Oblivion smoothly...
All in good time my son, all in good time...
How many drinks did they have? This is important as it may affect their lifespan.
Say hello to de_subway...
Umm, if it never seizes, it doesn't need oil...

And while you're into Nlite, make sure you download the RyanVM update pack. It has all the Windows updates up to a few months ago.
After integrating RyanVM, last check there are only 6 updates to do.
Check out Ryan's files here
I don't care how fancy it is. If I spend $400 on a keyboard, it better have a blowjob button!!!
Won't take Ozzie that long to figure it out.... SHAROONNNNN!!!!!

I just don't know what the fuss is about.

Just a thought.
Wasn't there a variant on the blaster worm that uninstalled the original blaster worm and replaced it with a new variant?
I'm sure this has been done before.
Ah, yes. The Welchia worm!
Boring. Next please...
Everyone knows that the anti-virus companies create some of the viruses themselves. It's all about sustaining business.

You need to download the Upgrade Advisor Tool.
