Its not that they are going after the people breaking the law, it is that the RIAA is suing people who have not dont anything wrong, and those people cant even defend themselves! There have been numerous cases where people who down even own computers have been sued. Not to mention all the suits against people who have free software.
Suing people who have committed the crimes are fine, but their tactics are dead wrong.
I think they mean, you have to be 30-100 feet to a WAP. At least that would make more sense. The protocol is based on 802.11, and Nintendo did mention that the DS would be compatable with Wireless Access Points.
I have had 5 Maxtor harddrives fail, a couple WD, a bunch of IBMs and 0 Seagates.
All my computers that I build for myself, and for customers I put in Seagates and so far I have yet to have one of their drives fail. They are relatively quiet, the setup is simple, and they are solid.
Now they are updating their warrenty, this is awesome.
Yeah and Im sure all the visitors of Slashdot will read the front page, and then frantically grab the phone to call their local vendor to order UnixWare.
You dont need the internet to check put porn on a website. Why do you think people have 6 120-gig hard drives on their PC? Not that I am saying I have 6 120-gig hard drives on my computer full of Jenna Jameson DIVX, organized by year or anything.
Yeah, that was in the heyday of the NES where anyone in a garage could create a game. There were tons and tons of craptastic games (anyone remember all the Super Mario carts you could get for $1?). Nowadays with budgets being so high, you dont see games for el cheapo anymore. At least they dont cost $80 like Phantasy Star 4 did when it came out for the Genesis.
Try applying for jobs outside of Boston. I work in IT in Madison, Wisconsin and I graduate with a 2-year tech degree in May, and make about $35k a year starting (about a year ago). I dont have any certs and no prior experience. There are jobs out there, you just might have to move for it. Otherwise I would think about getting out of IT.

I made the mistake of reading slashdot while she was cooking dinner (id help, but my cooking would kill a dog). She saw the 'news for nerds' and I didnt hear the end of it for 3 days.
Its not just the OS that is the problem. I am a Windows/Novell admin, and OS updates are not a problem (SUS). The problem lies in all the applications that need to be patches. Here is a short list :
AutoCAD 2004 (regular and LT)
Voloview 3.0
Office XP (plus Visio 2003, Publisher 2000, etc - my boss rocks!)
Pro/Engineer
etc etc etc.
It would be a huge timesaver if there was 1 server application that could manage all the patches for all the applications that I have to support. Thats where I spend the most time, testing various patches and throwing them down thru Zen.
I dont know about everyone else, but if a bug or security hole is found, I want a patch for it ASAP, and not in 2 months when the next 'service pack' or whatever comes out.
I dont think the issue has to do with patches coming out all the time, but having a better way to install said patches. Lets just say I am really looking forward to Novells Zenworks Patch Management solution.
A 5 year old is going to hear many words which you do not approve of, regardless of censorship on TV. It might be from parents, strangers, friends, or even a movie they see somewhere. Trust me on this, they will hear 'fuck' or any other swear word regardless. It is better they learn, from you, what the meaning is, and that it is not appropiate in your house before they hear it from somewhere else, and unknowningly repeat it.
Do you actually have some good, solid evidence that the ram is not being used for this? Aside from an article at that thinks it might not be. At least try to show a tiny little bit of responsibility in the statements that you make.

He said 'price drop' because as of yesterday, Wal-mart EB, Gamestop and etc were showing it to be $200. The DS being $150 is a nice surprise.

Yeah, they said 6-10 hours. Takes an hour longer to charge than the GBA, but still kicks ass.
Gamers, what about reviewers of *ahem* adult entertainment material?

Are these Pirates or Patriots?
Can they be both?

Supposely Nintendo has Mario 64 running on the DS to show that 3D can be done. In a few weeks, come E3, we shall know.

Step 2 is always "EBAY IT"!

Now I can finally back up my porno collection to 10 easy-to-find dvds...*phew*

Can I implant one of these in my gf, so when I touch her, it will tell me how many guys she has been with lately?
..local, targeted ads..
So, since I live in Wisconsin, I should be seeing tons of ads for cheese and beer..?
