There is a clear difference between Democrats and Republicans. Republicans will tell you they don't want to take your money and spend it but do it anyways. Democrats tell you that they want to take your money and spend it and then do just that in ways you never dreamed possible. The Democrats are hardly moving to the right these days. At least the base of the party isn't. They're becoming more irate and more left and more disdainful of anything short of socialism and secular humanism.

My theory is that species these days have been far too specialized for their own good. They "adapt" themselves into extinction. If you can only survive in one specific environment you're not really all that well adapted now are you? That's why humans have dominated the shit out of earth. We can survive and flourish anywhere. Let's see the spotted owl do that!

What's your point? Don't sign up if you don't like what you'd be getting in to. And yes, it is a crime. A very very serious one. But the point still stands, if you don't like what the job entails and the inherent freedoms taken away then don't sign up. No one is forcing you to. And there are plenty of other jobs you can have.

Exactly. That's what I do. I got a 1GB flash drive for Christmas and it has effectively replaced CD-Rs (except for the one time I had to mail someone a CD-R with data on that for screenprinting purposes). The 1GB of flash after all the rebates (the reason I love Fry's) was like 35 bucks. Granted I can't archive huge amounts of data on it. But that's what DVD-Rs are for. All my music I keep on my hard drive and I just use my iPod. Portable CD players are really lame once you've gotten used to having an iPod.

    Still never forget,
True equality, it hasn't happened yet,
But don't point your finger at me,
Take a look at my friends and you'll see.

    Stereotypes aren't for me,
But I never said life was fair,
    Diversity makes us all free,
And somebody needs to cut hair.

Look, I am a liberal guy,
I wear a ribbon, no one deserves to die,
You can tell I don't support the status quo,
Because "Ellen" is my favorite show,

Seriously though, I think people who make Windows NT/2K/XP crash more than a few times a year are probably doing something really dumb. I don't even see how that is possible. Now on Windows 9x.... man... if you can get a system running that to stay up more than two days you are lucky.

No, I'm not an MS appologist. I just don't ever have any problems with Windows cause I'm not dumb.

They're not making a "bold" stance against war. They're spouting bullshit that they (read "Reprise Records") hope will sell more CDs. Green Day is the last band I wanna hear trying to give me their opinion on something I'm sure they know little or nothing about. Green Day sucks, there, I said it. They had no artistic credibility 10 years ago, and they're sure as hell don't now. Only 14 year old girls consider them to be "punk rock", which they never were in the first place.

    Listen to hardcore.
