An adventure game to me is pretty much the same as an RPG but without stats, armor, weapons, and fighting. A lot of the old school Sierra/Dynamix games would fall into this category for me. Kings Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest, Freddy Pharkas, Phantasmagoria, Gabriel Knight, Leisure Suit Larry, Quest for Glory, and Adventures of Willy Beamish. Most of these could be full RPG's if stats, weapons, and armor were added. These games usually require you to get item A bring it to person B to get item C. How you get item A can be a decently long puzzle.
I guess adventure games could almost be considered to be puzzles which are brought to you in a non-straightforward sort of way...
Safari was already updated to 1.1.1. The OS 10.3.2 update installs previous security patches. Bringing Safari to 1.1.1 was a previous patch (the cookie patch I believe).
So when is there going to be a distributed computing project to computer the number scheme between the releases of the US and Japanese versions of the game? Frankly I'm just confused. (doesn't usually take much)
A few weeks back I went from no telemarketing calls on my cell phone to at least 4 or 5 a day. Most of the time I didn't answer ("Unavailable") but the ones I did answer were telemarketers... I finally had it and the next time they called me I stopped the gal mid offer and told her I would like to file a complaint with the FCC. I was immediately given a "higher up" to talk to who was quite pleasant and admitted that they were in the wrong with calling my cell phone. I filed a complaint with the FCC as I said I would... oddly enough... the very next day (and from then on) I have not received a single call from any telemarketer... I'm assuming my number got pulled from the list they bought and was also told to all the companies that had bought that list... worked quite well...
Please give me a Swiss Army PDA Phone with MP3, GPS, Wireless, and GameBoy emulation all in one. Oh, and please include the linux plug-in adapter as well.
Somebody hasn't been here long... if it's not OGG people will cry. Not me though... I'm one of those silly AAC users.
The person was fired mainly for taking a photo of the Microsoft Campus and posting it online plus telling people where he worked (short answer anyhow). Why is Microsoft so secretive about what is in the different buildings? I seem to remember a few other stories of people not being able to find anything on their land because nobody would tell them where anything was... it just seems weird. But I'm sure there is some sort of explanation for it. Anybody?
It is definitely a big deal. Like most other computing technologies, Microsoft ends up bringing it to the end-user without charging over-inflated prices like Apple does.
The over inflated price of free? I didn't have to pay for it directly. It comes with the computer.
Why couldn't we just put GPS in the emergency vehicles that would track which street they were on and send signals to turn upcoming lights to the appropriate color?
I know that while it's not a "good" thing it'd be cool if someday all cars had them in them. Then some fancy system would know how many cars were arriving at a given intersectin and swap lights accordingly... it'd throw privacy out the window of course... but... it'll probably happen someday.
I used to hate having to do pest control in games (killing rats and rabbits for those who didn't read the article). But I put this akin to being a tutorial before the main game. In most MMORPG's I've played you don't feel "established" until you hit at least level 10 or so. Fighting little woodland creatures is the easiest way to accomplish this in my opinion. It's the MMORPG way of having a tutorial level.
Holy buckets I think you're on to something. Why *doesn't* AOL start putting MS patches on their CD's? Really. Most all the AOL CD's I get just get tossed in the garbage. I know they can't be using all 700 MB of space on that disk anyhow. Granted it shouldn't be the only way that users patch... but at least it'd keep those on dial-up and those that are unaware patched up every 6 months or so. Granted my AOL CD's would still go in the trash since I have a Mac... but...
I don't however agree that MS should be "fixing" users computers without the consent of the user (even if this is somehow in their TOS). They could however send users an e-mail once a month to show them how to turn it off (providing they detected that the user had it on) or even pop up a window every time the user logs onto the service to tell them how to shut it off.
As far as I know, the iPod is pretty much the only player to use AAC. I wonder if the iTunes Music Store gets popular if other players will start to support AAC and then eventually get a license from Apple to play the restricted files. I know some will argue that iTunes is a way to get people to buy iPods so it'd be silly for them to license the DRM'ed AAC files but... who knows... maybe Apple is nicer than we think? Not that it matters to me... my Mac and my iPod work just fine... I've been pulled in full steam ahead already anyhow... doh!
So if you have an anti-Apple friend all you should have to do is send them a music gift certificate for... $20 (minimum I believe)... then watch them cry as they install iTunes for Windows...:)
Although I don't think I could specifically tell you of a certain game off the top of my head, I've found numerous times that this occurs. Doing a quick google search and destroy, I only found one game (Bubble Ice Age) which has a color blind mode. It inserts different geometric shapes into the circles.
I think I should start up my own company were people can rent my time so I can check things out for the color blind...:)
Is there any sort of color blind accessability documentation out there?

I'm cofused... Now Jiring? Or did you mean 72 to a 70? Or am I totally out of whack?
Ever since FF7? So over half?
It's rather sad that my parent post went from +4 funny to -2 overrated...

... their bandwidth costs have forced them to close down.
Doesn't Bilbo find the ring in The Hobbit and then in The Fellowship of the Ring seem to have not aged? So they may use the same actor anyhow...

"installing them all may take a week or even more?"
Sorry. If it takes you a week to install replication software, you shouldn't be in IT.
I believe they were talking about the applications they used, not the actual disk imaging software.
shhhhhhhhhhhhhh... spoil the fun... ;)
I was looking at Steve Jobs' blog and he notes it too here.

I think that we can all stop calling the privacy advocates paranoid now.
I'm going to continue doing so until they can find an effective way to keep tabs on me...

When I first read the story I thought this was about the sony portable unit... I wondered if it came with a backpack or something...
"CUT!"
"If that box crashes one more time during a shoot... I swear I'll..."
Windows... the worlds worst extra.
"There is no trailer."
