Because Edonkey and programs like are still semi-evil in my mind because they still go and share all the files in your computer's share folders. With Bit Torrent, many naysayers like it better because it's focused on one file and there's nothing else going on with your computer at the same time. You're in, you're out, and it's over and done with. When I go to download the latest news file, it's not also trying to share 100 other files on my machine.
I was playing around with this the other day. I tried it out with my filerush.com page which has the main html, but all images are loaded off a second images.domain.com server. Coral will get the main server's files that match the origination URL that you passed it, but will skip all files that are sitting off another server. So basically it'll handle all relative links, but no hard links to other sites. It would be killer if they somehow made it configureable in your browser's proxy settings.
Let's not forget about Snapstream with it's web and 10-foot based administration. I've been using it for a long time and it has a larger feature set than both Tivo and Media Center if you include the up and coming Beyond Media. It even does dual tuners now like Myth TV.
The question is, are they using the same method of measuring things as the Wifi market, or the "My 20 inch monitor is really only 18.7" ? If they're going by Wifi standards, 20mbps suddenly is starting to look like 8 or less... not bad by any means, but hardly the great speeds mentioned in the fiber to the curb article of yesterweek.
Because ventrilo isn't free, and has all sorts of annoying licensing issues that came about a year or so ago. Unfortunately teamspeak is going that way also according to their site, but luckily isn't yet. Skype on the other hand is free in every way.
I and 500 of my closest friends have Tivo style television watching entrenched in our way of doing things that if it were taken away, we'd probably just stop watching it altogether.
I had some ip ranges banned because of idiots submitting warez, so you're obviously on one of those ranges. I just cleared it all out though, so it should be fine now.
That's only enabled if the broadcaster decides to implement that for a particular show at a particular time. I haven't seen anything on whether direct firewire recording to a computer will be affected by this. Seems a bit contradictory to their other moves eh?:)
The FCC recently stated that all cables boxes that offer HDTV now must have working firewire outputs. This of course lets users now record the transport stream right off the cable box, and allows DVR's to do the same. The regular broadcast channels are required to be unscrambled at all times, but the premium channels are kind of up in the air at the moment and will probably require more decryption at the end. The question is, will DVR's such as Tivo, start coming with this cardcapable thing so that decryption can happen and let us record even scrambled shows?
"I get from other people is that game testers... are almost disposable."
They're not almost, they fully disposable. As one game magazine mentioned, the next career step after game tester is janitor. Unless you're taking game creation classes on the side while working as a game tester during the day, there's really no career path in game testing other than staying where you are.
I've been a victiZZZZZT... beneficiary of this technology and I would like to say it has brought me nothing but extreme paiZZZZZZT... joy as I see that other people may now implanted with this horrifiZZZZZZZZZTTTT... hopeful device.

How far we've come. From people watching the very first tv on tiny screens in public places, to people watching tv on tiny screens in publ... er...

Going on the mention of the previous shuttle disaster, I think they're trying to avoid doom.

Here's a torrent for that great G4TechTV Interview. Lots of in-game footage: http://www.filerush.com/torrents/doom3g_4.avi.torr ent
Unfortunately that's the older teaser trailer, not the new longer one.

It definitely perpetuates Dave Chappelle's view of the Samuel L. Jackson as "that guy who yells non-stop in all of his movies."
Don't know if people care since Apple is fast, but here's a torrent: http://www.filerush.com/torrents/the_incredibles-t lr_m480.mov.torrent

If you would have looked at what I posted, you would have seen that they were already the full screen versions.
Those ARE the full screen versions.

"It's another to have to crack the case and install a new piece of hardware..." Your above statement begs the question, WTF are you doing on slashdot?
