If you don't have a PVR you have no idea what you're missing.
It makes life a ton easier.
No tapes to try to find empty space on. No fast forward/rewind hell trying to find stuff. No programming dates and times. No making sure a tape is in. Etc...
Man oh man, the PVR's kill VCR's.
Actually, I've never used the VCR to record a tv show. If I miss something oh well. There's nothing on TV that I'll be upset if I miss.
I want an all-in-one box at a low price, and I don't want to have to hack it to get that.
Really? I plan on buying something that'll play video games and do it well. I don't need any of that other stuff to take away from that. Don't need an iffy DVD player included(I already own one), I don't need it to play CDs(I have a stereo), I don't need it to record TV shows(I have a VCR)
I felt like washing my hands after trying the first N-Gage, I felt so dirty after touching such a piece of crap. But I am not gonna just curse this one to the rubbish pile because of N-Gage 1. Perhaps Nokia will learn from the long list of mistakes it made with N-Gage and actually produce a quality machine. Lets not judge until we actually see the thing
For me, backward compatability isn't all that necessary. I own a SNES, N64, GC, X-box, PS2(don't own any PS1 games), Dreamcast, and a GBA. I'd rather not have to pay extra for backward compatability.
Do I think it's a useful thing? Sure, for some people. Is it necessary that they include it or else it'll kill their system's sales? Nope.
Wow they just keep lumping stuff into this thing. I've always valued Nintendo because their products focus on the games and nothing else. This seems to be going away from it.
Not to say I am not gonna give this a try just because. I wait patiently for the reviews and I do hope that it is something great. Nintendo has rarely disappointed me and I sure hope this is no different.
If this handheld is to compete with the PSP, it has to hit the target price sweet spot.
The DS isn't being made to compete with the PSP. Nintendo is working on a "Next Gen" handhold that will be competing with the PSP. There's no way the DS would be able to compete with PSP and Nintendo knows this. DS is more of a quirky little handheld that probably won't do great but could be a neat little toy for the more hardcore gamers out there. The GBA2 or whatever it'll be called will be Nintendo's answer to the PSP.
My suggestion would be that before they release their next device they listen to their audience a bit more. There's no way they could have with the N-Gage. Or if they did go out and talk with the average gamer who would be buying their product the need to talk to a lot more people. This thing was getting bad reviews from the first I'd heard of it. All the flaws were stuff that could would should have been pointed out very early on and could possibly have been fixed or just scrapped all together and they start over.
So next time Nokia go out and talk to your target audience some more. Go to a few malls or something and talk to some people buying games. Go to an arcade or two. Find out where the gamers are and ask them what they think. Don't just assume what we will and won't like. So far you aren't doing so good at that.
So the X-box will sell 5 million more units in Europe than Nintendo. But I would imagine that it's not gonna sell nearly as well as Nintendo in Japan. Look at how well the X-box is doing there now. Nintendo is definatly ahead of it there. In fact Microsoft is having a hard time in that market.
This whole thing reeks of monkey poo if you ask me.
I got to see Mononoke in the theater the first time and it was an awesome experience. It was my first time ever seeing anime on the big screen and it just blew me away. It definatly helped that I went with a large group of friends who are all really into anime. Mononoke remains one of my favorite anime movies to this day.
I also got to see Escaflowne in a movie theater and too was a great experience. Too bad more anime isn't shown in theaters.
Sony press release in which they claim online gaming using the PlayStation 2 is taking away viewers from the TV
This can be said about any of the game consoles whether they are online or not. It's pretty hard to watch TV when you are playing Nintendo, X-box, or PS2 on the TV.
A new report also shows that listening to CDs is taking away listeners from the radio.
Either way, I'm greatly enjoying Metroid Prime (oh, and unlike most here, I didn't have trouble finding a system in Montreal).
Well that's good for ya. As you can see by the topic title though, GameCube Demand Spiking in the U.S.?, we aren't talking about you all from the frigid North. On the other hand, we could all go up there, buy all your stuff at a cheaper price, our dollar is stronger, and then leave you with nothing.
Sorry, I'm from Upstate NY, we're supposed to tease the Canadians. I think it's a law.:)
Gee I dunno. Hrm...fun games that everyone can enjoy. I know with every GC topic there's a list but here it is again because perhaps you haven't seen it before
Super Monkey Ball Pikmin Viewtiful Joe SSMB Zelda Metroid Prime Mario Kart Mario Golf Bomberman(Great Multiplayer)
The DS isn't being made to compete with the PSP. I'm sure that Nintendo is also working on a next generation handheld as well that will be released to compete with the PSP.
The DS is probably going to be from the GBA generation.
I'm sure there are much better things that the court systems could be doing then going through a whole bunch of IP addresses. This is either gonna piss a judge off and have him order the ISPs to release the info or piss a judge off and kick some RIAA ass.
While not as high-tech why not just stick with a punch card or swipe card. Sure you can get a few people who will punch in for someone every once and a while or something what's the big deal. This just sounds like a gigantic waste of money to me.
What is the point of product placement except to the the product more visable and the makers of the game/movie more money?
If I remember correctly Monkey Ball sold for the same price as every other game when it came out. Movies cost the same amount to go see whether it's just one gigantic advertisement for Preperation H or an actual movie with plot.
Perhaps if the games cost less then I'd be okay with a few little things hidden in the game but as it is they are just annoying and don't do me any good.
So not only do I get to piss off people by spamming I get to use PayPal. This keeps getting better and better.

Very true. However I have not ever used it for such. I only own GBA games. Like I said, useful but not necessary.
Do I think it's a useful thing? Sure, for some people. Is it necessary that they include it or else it'll kill their system's sales? Nope.

Double Dash is a lot of fun two player. Granted the battle mode isn't as good but just racing with friends is a lot of fun.
Smash Bros. Melee is a ton better than the original. More characters, better boards, more items, the game runs smoother, etc.
I love Mario Golf, I've enjoyed this one a lot more than the original.
And also the GameCube isn't flopping. In fact it's beating the X-box and selling very well right now. Just look at the sales records.
I also got to see Escaflowne in a movie theater and too was a great experience. Too bad more anime isn't shown in theaters.

I will agree, I can definatly use that with no problems at all. But I'm not any dork, I'm a big dork.

Okay, I know little about this subject. So will it be possible for them to someday see the beginning of the universe?
This is the US we're talking about. We sue everyone for everything. In fact I just might sue you for implying we wouldn't sue.
Any idea which I've got money on?
Well yeah, looking at porn sucks with dial up.
