... but why title this "MP3 Download Prices to Rise"? Can you actually legally download MP3s these days? Allofmp3.com sounds decidedly illegal and everyone else offers various flavours of DRM restricted shite. Surely "online music stores to increase prices" or something would be more accurate?
Will it still be free if EA buy Ubi though? I'm sure EA's bean counters will do a thorough evaluation of the game before deciding the programmers need to be put on something more profitable like The Sims: Old People's Home or the 374th Madden sequel.
That and the reviewer uses nearly 50% of the review to pimp the XFPS, which is clearly a rip-off of the SmartJoy FRAG. Paid advertising masquerading as a game review perhaps?
I'm not sure if I'd trust Namco with any more Nintendo property after what they did to Star Fox with Star Fox Assault. Who'd have thought the crappy tech demos for Assault that Namco were showing 2 years ago would end up being just like the final game?
Mouse over events!? So if I mouse-over an advert for My Little Pony while moving my mouse up to close the Amazon tab in Firefox, does that mean I will start getting spam from them telling me about deals on My Little Pony, even though I have no interest in it?
It's understandable for MS to want to transition to a new console quickly, with the success of Halo 2 and the Xbox currently having quite a "cool" image it's probably the best time to do it. And at the same time they can get rid of the costly hardware they make a loss on and the piracy issue. Still at least removing the hard drive that makes it harder for Tecmo to start suing its fans for enjoying modding their games...
I think Nintendo especially have a lot to offer on the GameCube this year, with RE4, Zelda, DK Jungle Beat, Star Fox etc.
... loads of undeserving games got high scores: Halo 2 (not finished), Doom3 (dull), HL2 (it was OK, nothing amazing), GTA:SA (slideshow, poor controls), NFS:Underground 2 (dull), MGS3 (rubbish camera).
Anyone who reads a game review to make a buying decision needs their head examining IMHO. The reviewers give the scores they're paid to by the big publishers.
These days I decide on a game by either playing a demo or looking at screenshots and movies and seeing if it looks interesting.
I actually took part in the market research for the name (I got an email invite to partticipate from a GameSpot "affiliate") and Xbox 247 was actually one of the potential names, along with 360, FS, HD and a few others I can't remember anymore.
... they're the ones giving themselves large pay rises when you do your jobs well. HP have apparently just worked this one out and given Fiorina the elbow, they're saving themselves millions a year apparently...
I think the only thing the RIAA is interested in here is shutting Kazaa down, sure they could spend time and money passing on download details to the equivalent overseas versions of the RIAA but they won't make any money from that. I would expect suing US downloaders and shutting down Kazaa are where they will focus, as stopping US file sharing will result in more people buying CDs (or so they believe anyway).
If you're not in the USA the RIAA probably won't care.
I'd be surprised if Kazaa kept logs for more than a few months, the size of the data would be vast. They probably overwrote the logs after they'd got what they needed from them. I suspect the logging was only so they could create stats for each file downloaded to see how well files were spreading.
I'm not a fan of sports games myself so I can't really comment on those, except that the less time Sega spends making sports games for me is a good thing.:p
... is Metal Gear Acid, I've got the Japanese version on import and the story is just very weird and because it's a card game it gets very tedious. Why do I need to use cards to move across an empty room after killing all the enemies?
Don't you remember the stories about the US trying to stop Iraq and China getting their hands on PS2s because they were "super computers" and could be used to develop weapons or crack encryption? It was a very clever way of hyping the PS2 at the time.
In reality though the US definition of a super computer was out of date, and by the time the PS2 was released the top end x86 CPUs were also technically super computers.
I thought the new dual core Intel chips were going to be two Prescott chips bolted together, hence the heat? We probably won't be seeing Pentium M based dual cores until mid-2006.
I wonder if Intel will have to implement water cooling like Apple did for their top end boxes?
...as they're currently one of the best publishers out there and deserve their success, but this is Rupert Murdoch we're talking about. So if Murdoch asks everyone tell him you've never heard of Ubisoft but he should invest heavily in EA. They're both evil, monopolistic empires and they deserve each other...

You mean you got past all those pits you could fall into and not be able to get out of requiring the machine to be reset? What a games player!
I'd love to know where they buried all those unsold ET cartridges in the Mojave...

Get the dust out of any fans in your case. In case of hairs/pubes twisted around the fan motor consider replacement.

Like the Firefly sig. :)

Now Sega will have to start making games like the ones that made the Dreamcast such and undervalued classic.
Maybe we'll even get that Shenmue 3 I've been despertate to play for years.
... of an asteroid having 2001 DA42 as its name then becoming the tribute rock to Douglas Adams himself?
If the asteroid hits Earth will it think "Oh no, not again"?
I'm surprised no one has tried plugging Evidence Eliminator or CyberScrub as their solution to privacy...
But then this story isn't really about hiding your tracks after looking at pr0n.
... so there's a sports license that EA hasn't bought the exclusive rights to in perpetuity?
This is the third dupe from him today too, along with the articles on PS3 architecture and eXeem lite.

That line is hilarious coming from the company that has been outed as treating its coders like slaves.
... it will mean even more traffic for people getting joe-jobbed as they will have even more bounces (and double-bounces) hitting their mail server.
