The only reason Trip couldn't throw his marketing weight around here is that GamePro's editors knew the writing was on the wall for 3DO and didn't need to care about losing their advertising.
I've worked for games developers and I was always amazed at how prophectic the advertising department could be. They would show us early previews of their adverts and posters which would already have the review scores on them. Amazingly the scores exactly matched what the game got when we finished writing it and sent it out to the reviewers! Those marketing guys are really psychic!

It's probably because the Gizmondo runs Windows CE that MS are supporting it.
I've been a life-long Nintendo fan but after reading this interview with Hiroshi Yamauchi I'm of the belief that the company is doomed. Yamauchi has totally lost touch, the fact that he doesn't see the PSP as a credible competitor to the DS is worrying, his comments about "fat Americans" is very offensive and his comments about giving Satoru Iwata tips on what to do in every situation just shows that he's still the man with the power at Nintendo even though he denies it.
Good point! It's unusual for Apple to have announced it like that. I guess that's why they're being extra careful this year and suing anyone talking about the new stuff being unveiled at Macworld!;)

Any "Top 20 Publishers of the Year" list that puts EA at number 1 will get no respect from me.
Yeah, the hx2750 looks pretty horrid to me in those pictures. I don't know what's wrong with HP, all their new iPaqs look hideous compared to the old ones, especially the beautiful h4150.
Dell's X50V still looks to be the best handheld currently, it's got the 624Mhz CPU, a 3D accelerator and the casing looks pretty neat.
... when someone asks me how long it will take to do something is "that depends how often I'll get emails/calls telling me to work on something else". Management these days don't care if you need to concentrate to do a good job, they're quite happy to bombard you with crap and expect you to get it all done.
As a PSP owner myself I thought I'd just chime in and say everything you've mentioned is in line with what I've observed using my own PSP. I really don't understand the fanboyish bashing of either of these handhelds (I own a DS too), they're both great and they both currently have such different games (we'll pretend Ridge Racer DS doesn't exist;) ) that I don't currently see much overlap between them.
Very true, if my memory serves the snes9x team donated a lot of their SuperFX code to the ZSNES team to get help it working. Between them they've created two excellent emulators.
I still remember the good old days when SNES sound emulation was just a dream!:)
He turned up on Smallville recently as a military general, sadly he's starting to look his age a bit I don't think he'll be offered the lead. As long as they don't cast Ben Affleck we should be OK.
I agree, I'm sick of the "Nintendo is for kids" attitude many gamers have. It seems there are two kinds of people who say this too: Kids who think playing mature games makes them more mature and people who have never sat down to play Mario or Zelda because they won't look beyond the graphics.
From the article: "The modified consoles, some holding 15 or more games already copied to the hard drive, were on open display in the stores." this is what really annoys me about the modding scene today, it's all about pirating games, which makes it harder for the genuine game importers and homebrew coders to persue their hobby.
Chipping is now synonymous with pirating, I recently told someone I'd chipped my X-Box and they said they didn't agree with playing pirate games...
I make a fair bit of side cash helping clueless people remove Spyware from their machines. It's usually a case of installing AdAware and SpyBot S&D and I'm done, it's all voodoo to them of course.
The pornographic pop-ads are of course because their "son" was last using the computer...
I have heard that one before, but when I heard it the joke was: "Why did the Welsh start wearing kilts?", I've also heard it used with New Zealanders too though.;)
You can see a document on GameFAQs here which clearly describes the Cherry Poppers glitch.
I can't find anyone mentioning the garage glitch (I should have added it's only the Vercetti Mansion garage which does it AFAIK) but my version of the game is 1.30, which you'll notice isn't listed in the different versions section in the doc above...
Vice City has had this feature for years now, stick more than two cars in a garage and bye-bye save game.
Of course this new, improved Demo Disc feature does do your whole memory card... I guess I'm out of touch with the modern gamer, in my day we wanted to keep our save games....

... finishing Halo 2 for Xbox 1 before making the gaming masses go out and buy a new console just to see the end of the game?

IIRC Intel doesn't remove the doping because it's an IBM (or possibly AMD) patented process and they'd have to pay a license for it.
Did you think about buying several and sticking them on Ebay? :)
I'd be willing to pay a little extra if it meant no adverts, that's the biggest pull of BitTorrent for me personally.
The original Gameboy Advance was AGB or "Advanced GameBoy", presumably AGS is "Advanced Gameboy SP".

It's the Welsh who are sterotyped as sheep shaggers.
Could be worse, we could end up with Paul WS Anderson, the guy who managed to fuck up the Alien Vs Predator and Resident Evil films.

I depends on the version, they very quickly released a "fixed" version where saving at Cherry Poppers killed your save instead.
