Mmm not so much. All this does is abstract the UI from the code. (Which is super if you look at the kludgey cra* they have foisted on developers through the VS series of products. I have always liked the ease of use of MS's designers but the resulting code usually made me angry. Nothing like adjusting the attribute of a control in the source and having it crash your IDE.)
You will still need to write behaviours for any application using XAML. I believe there's been a couple of O/S projects that have done the same thing for a couple of years (abstracting UI to XML) but I'm not sure of the names..
This seems like a good platform for localised processor nodes. They are about the right size that you could embed them in a wall between studs if you wanted computers spread out in a house, ie. wireless controllers or functional controllers per room There are other platforms available for this sort of thing, but this is completely packaged as is and only needs programming.
Simple! Step that sucker up to 500 Kv and power it directly FROM the wall - No steenking cords required! Get a big vacuum pump to remove the air from the room and you're happenin! Of course fans don't work so well when there is no air (although they spin REALLY fast), you might have to investigate other methods of cooling.
No need to send money, I'm just Glad I could 'Help'!
I got a C64, not knowing that a soon to born obsession with computers and electronics lay in front of me. Wow.
Strangely, I had wanted an Omnibot 2000 as well. My friend ended up with one, and although very cool, ate about $50 worth of batteries in 2 weeks and ended up in his closet, while my c64 occupied my desk for years afterward.
(btw, I liked the Adam too, but I'm still biased from my early years/grin)
First off, I would recommend that you never run applications on your file server. That just seems like tempting fate to me. Get a cheap old system from reseller/friend/garbage and use that.
Second, use FTP instead of NFS. Allow it to support resume, only let it talk locally. I believe there are utils which will allow you to mount an FTP as a drive in windows as well...
I can't claim to be an incredibly experienced Java developer or anything, but the Eclipse gui seems to run a lot faster on my (woefully) slow box than Netbeans.
If you're a student, I know the IEEE has very cheap/test subsciptions. They also publish a simply obscene number of journals, so this it's an idea to test before buying. Any good technical library (ie the one at your Uni) will have copies of said journals.
...but that picture was almost definately made with a disposable camera. At least _I_ sure wouldn't want to use it again. Or for that matter, see or eat, but thats another matter entirely.
Some network cards support using a Boot Prom, you could boot off a server and copy an image down to the client at that point. Not so hot in terms of network traffic at 8am, and god-forbid your user saves locally and the machine locks, or your server gets compromised (shudder) but maybe an option if you can get around those hurdles. Just a suggestion anyways.:)
>It is unfortunate that you (and many others) will sacrifice your principles for a game.
These guys would sacrifice their children to play this game. Be thankful there's no click through that makes you promise on your heart hope to die never to use an OS that makes Bill cry.
More important than cost is the very standardised hardware. To use a phrase, Imagine a beowulf cluster of these if you will. Admin'ing a cluster of these would be very easy as all the HD images would be almost identical. Adding a Node or replacing a corrupt one would be a case of ghosting a HD not installing an OS.
Nothing says I love you, even though you're a reanimated corpse, like Tesla coils
That sounds hella-fun
I'm not entirely sure that an antigovernment militia training sim would make it past the censors though...
dude... it's 0.2 better!
LOTR:ROTK - Linux on the Router : Recompilation of the Kernel baby
Hahaha
5 should probably be "!!!"
and 6a. should be "Wake up in ditch outside Vegas"
This is bat country.

...because all their hypermagnetic trains suck the money right out of their pockets and stick it to the rails...
Any sufficiently advanced orchestra is indistinguishable from a magical orchestra.
Where's the Kaboom?
There was supposed to be a giant Kaboom!
I thought 1986 was a great christmas as well.

Hope that helps!
Get one of those motion activated lawn sprinklers and attach said laser pointers. Situate on lawn and watch the fun!

..because of money averaged over shorter lifespan due to forehead/door jamb interactions..
eCyboCouch!
Now with 30% more masochistic tendencies!
I think this is more along the lines of planned obsolescence. The strain gauges in the ass cushions are probably rated in 100 lb increments.
...finally a use for Esperanto...

Nope, but you might see a bit of Bird pr0n...

Forget all this high tech stuff, talk to Suze and get something 'revealing' posted in your gallery.
No, seriously...
Especially if any of your co-workers have been working from home.
a) Pants. Use them, Love them.
b) Although therapeutic, screaming obscenities at the printer will not make it work. Baseball bats are for that.
c) Nerf is much less "sparky-flamey" than water guns.
d) No, not everyone likes Kraftwerk and Devo. (Although they should)
e) Paper Boxes can be used strategically to expand your cubicle space
f) Remember, that fellow you "0wnzor3d" at Quake with the wall hack is within striking distance
g) Removing the flourescents to achieve that "dank cave" feel is much less appreciated in a group setting
