    graphics don't look that great (some choppy animation), but well more than adequate.

    also, looks like a lot of LOTR-inspired shots in there, which is a Good Thing imo. (horse vs 'wargs', horse vs. 'nazgul', appearance of undead, giant spider chase)

    definitely looks interesting.

    while it is true that computers always get better so waiting on the next thing can seem stupid, it would not be wise to buy right before a new product release or refresh.

    if something new is about to hit the shelves you should wait a bit to see because even if you don't buy it you'll at least get a discount on the stuff you were just about to buy anyway.

    just in the last few months there have been cases of Apple refeshing (new Powerbooks, iPod minis and iPod photos) and discounting (iBooks).

    yes. 'chart' music is not produced by 'artists', it's mostly just crap.

    consider Window's - popular != good.

    listen to some decent bands and you won't have to worry about filler.

    why shouldn't laws about information be enforced just because the 'magic' phrase "on the internet" is tacked on the end?

    so you don't want employee/NDA contracts enforced because a blog post was involved. what's next? in the future will all espionage be conducted through unaccountable blog postings?

    or might just be a law from ages ago. AFAIK there is/was a law that stated that only 'Royal mail' post vans can go through red lights - because the post they carry is the property of the Queen during transit and may not be impeded. or something like that - mad stuff from the past. disclaimer: or it could just be BS of course.

    I paid a tax on all my computer stuff. it's called VAT.

    this isn't like TVs where you pay a license to receive BBC etc. the government gives me fuck all wrt computing.

    so unless they're about to implement free wifi throughout the country they can fuck right off.

    actually I stopped using malware finders on my Windows machine since I have it pretty much locked down in terms of installed software and functionality.

    I said only the firegl has proper linux support. this is true. I'm not talking about hacked drivers released once or twice a year for out of date versions of X. I'm talking about support written on the card box and backed up with full customer service.

    there was an article in New Scientist about the solar tower months ago. they talked about the possibility of using it as an actual greenhouse too. the main problem was thought to be keeping it clean.
