Erm.. The new Zelda game was released on January 18th? If that's the case, then I'm guessing it was the Japanese release.. Anyone got a date for the Euro and US releases?
In.se, we apply with our PIN (Personal Identification Number). It's basically the year, month, day you were born, along with four digits that work out in which part of the country you were born, along with gender etc.
This, along with name, address, phonenumber etc. gets passed on to "UC", a crediting-central. It's their job to see what my current income is, along with any debts I currently have.
In other words, companies ask UC "Does this guy qualify for a debt of XXXXX kronor, payable at XXX kronor per month?
None of the information regarding my salary or debts is passed on to the actual merchant.
I'm not sure "better" is the word you're looking for.
Though it seems it's geared more towards people/companies wanting to migrate from a Windows environment.

Hmm, this actually seems like an interesting package. While I definitely applaud the fact that home-directories are encrypted (anyone know what software is used for this?), I'd also like to hope the manual explains *why* this is a good thing. Can't wait for a review:)
You mean the "+5, Obvious" plot? That said, it was carried out pretty nicely - but it was as predictable as the plotline in Mysteries of the Sith IMO. -r
Without trying to sound.. weird.. I wish it'd happen again;) It was definitely a few days with something worthwhile and different to do, even if it didn't mean anything in the end.
The adrenaline rush I got when standing three meters away from the baddie while talking to the police officer on the phone was intense. I don't think I've ever appreciated shaded window-glass as much as I did at the time:P
Doesn't matter, you still make a good point;) The report was filed by several bigtime companies here (think plane tickets, train tickets and hardware that more often than not starts with a lower-case i). The PD combined it all into one nice case, yet they were unable to actually send a unit? It's times like these when I wonder where my tax-payer money actually goes.
From what the e-commerce sites told me (along with the screen-dumps I took when another retailer called us up directly), we're easily talking $10k+ per incident - and I know the bad guy by name and face.
Recently, I was contacted by the local PD in regards to a huge number of stolen CCs being used from our IP-range (Internet Café). After getting a list of specific timestamps (along with IP-addresses), I was able to figure out who the culprit was. That said, the man-hours I put into the whole thing seem to have been for nothing. The PD won't do jack shit - too little resources, they say - which is why I find it funny that they can't even send a unit to pick up the frauders when they're actually on-site (yet they can be seen parading the streets, looking for minors consuming alcohol).
Just because law enforcement want your help doesn't mean they'll do anything - even if you virtually hand them the crooks on a silver platter. Then again, things might be different elsewhere.
Then again, if you performed searches based on those keywords, you could see the explanation for the removal - along with the url to the matching page(s) (though not hyperlinked).
Let's see, my record uptime was 87 days. I used the computer on a daily basis (browsing, playing games, watching videos, encoding videos, playing with different USB peripherals, developing in VS.Net, monitoring servers etc.)
Why did I have to reboot? I got a new graphics card.
Really, unless you're doing something really fucked up, it should be difficult to be forced to reboot.
I go through the floppy-inserted-wrong-way scenario every week.
My favorite annoyance (err?) would have to be some ASSHAT saying "the internet is down" when they can't log in through their hotmail by typing their email address in the address-bar..
.. not to mention when someone grabs the mouse "next to him/her", even though there's actually two mice closer - one on the mousepad right next to the keyboard, then claiming that the mouse isn't working..

Which is why the bass-boost in my old NetMD gives me a much fuller sound than playing with the equalizer in the ipod?
Same headphones, same songs btw.

What they neglected to mention was that this is because of patent pressure, they are now the only online-store in the united states.

Should this be modded insightful or funny?
Indeed, though I feel there's a huge gaping hole where once my favorite site was.
You're still paying the Micrsoft tax after all.

The tip is there for the oh-so-clever people storing production websites on ramdisks without having a backup elsewhere

But see, if we buy newer/faster intel chips, the temperature on the surface of this planet will triple, and "Waterworld" will come to be.
