I'm not sure what kind of company you work at, but we take precautions when upgrading software. For instance, we take a backup of the affected software before installing the new version.
In other words; yes, I'd rather have my company's webserver down for the minute or two it takes to restore the recently-made backup, instead of having to worry about whether or not someone is trying to compromise our web platform.
Not sure why yours weren't sent out, but mine definitely were. I ordered 20 x86 versions and 15 x86_64 versions, and they arrived in a semi-timely manner.
1.3.x is very stable and production ready 2.0.x is very stable and production ready, but it doesn't have the same amount of years on its neck as 1.3.x - and thus doesn't have as widespread deployment. 2.1.x is alpha-quality, and it has the fix..
Depends whether or not said spyware companies have any patents. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that claria has a somewhat impressive (when it comes to spyware) patent-portfolio.
I'd expect that's why MS are making the bid they are.

You're forgetting that they might be doing distributed rendering (for instance, one frame goes to machine a, another to machine b, etc.). In this case, that 10gbps pipe would be very useful in sending and grabbing each frame.
Well, you're actually forced to go to a military drafting ground. Failure to go there results in a lovely police escort and a fine.
That said, depending on how you score on the tests they take (intelligence, physical strength, physical endurance, psychological evaluation), you have something of a say in the whole matter of you being drafted.
While not scoring above average on the physical tests, I scored rather high on the psychological evalutation and the iq test.
The psychologist I was talking to asked me what kind of service I wanted (eg. military (if so, what kind), civilian), and I simply told him I wanted to graduate and keep working with my employer.
He filled out some form, and after that, I haven't had any contact with the military since. This was five years ago.
Funny, me living in a country like that (Sweden), I simply told the kind officers "I don't want to join the military. You're better off spending the money on someone who wants to join", and that was that. "Must" is a very strong word. Feel free to not use it until you really understand it.
For those of you scoffing at the notion of Time being an unknown, I'd like to point out the following strangeness about Time:
1) Between 8am and 5pm, Time is slower than between 5pm and 8am.
2) Friday, 5m - Monday 8am goes by a lightning speed compared to "Normal Time"
3) One year passes faster than 365.4 days
4) Right now, it's 9:30pm, and I'm wasting precious Time on this useless post.
4a) So I *seriously* hope you are too!

One thing that really pissed me off on the European release-date was when I was standing in line, noticing that the big N had boldly printed "10/10" on the actual box. Not a sticker. They (well, Nintendo Magazine) had rated it, and put the actual rating on the box. I was fuming. I was SO pissed off.
An hour later, I was at a friend's place with the cube plugged in, watching the intro sequence. Yet an hour later, the smile on my lips hadn't even started fading.
Bottom line? I'm eagerly awaiting the next game where Nintendo print 10/10 on the box.

As usual, someone thinks they can have all three.
Here's a hint: Pick two.
