Did you read the article? He does not object to paying taxes on the 25% of his income that comes from New York, but he does object to them taxing 100% of his income, including the portion that he earned in Tennessee.
Mathematics does not lie, but nowhere does anything say that the coders spent an average of 40 hours per week on their project. I would bet that a lot of these coders had summer jobs as well, and besides, I bet they're all getting paid to do something they enjoy.
Of course it is an issue for multi-tuner PVRs as well. If I want to record two things that end at 9:00 and ER starts at 8:59, voila, same problem. It is only not an issue if you have more tuners than you ever use at once.
Check out goproblems.com. It is set up as problems rather than complete games, but it has something for players at every level. Many of the people who comment on the problems really know what they're talking about and don't talk down to those who know less than them, either.

As much as I dislike Windows XP, I had just the opposite problem.
I bought one of those thumb-drive shaped netgear wireless cards, and it wouldn't even connect 95% of the time with the netgear supplied access configuration software. Every time I rebooted I had to mess with the thing to get it working again. Ever since I uninstalled that infernal piece of software, I haven't had any problems to speak of with that wireless connection.
Mine locks up, too. Almost everytime I fully charge it now. I've had it since April 2003. I heard there's a firmware update that might help, but I would have to go to Verizon and beg them to do it for me.

Uracil isn't DNA, it's RNA. Since they didn't use U to spell Gattaca, your point stands. Other than that you're right.
I'm not sure you should let everyone on /. know that you automatically post images in your email...
How do you pronounce "pwn"? It always comes out "poan" (one syllable) when I say it.
He could only get a 20ft range out of the wiflyer, so you can't really walk around the house and remain connected to it, either.
It's not $40, the WiFlyer is around $150, the $40 price he mentioned was for an external antenna.
Now if they could only tell how much spam is coming from hotmail accounts...
I thought it said "Any persons, living or dead, are purely coincidental"...no, wait, that might have been Kurt Vonnegut. Never mind.
The keycard my dad used to carry for his office would set off some detectors, especially, if I recall correctly, the ones at the local Wal-Mart.
Who mentioned the GPL?
They might see craters on the Orion Nebula? That's the most impressive telescope I've ever heard of.
Are you selling it online? I might be interested if the price is right. You can email me at eoyount at gmail or just reply here.
By the way, will 50 gmail invites sweeten the pot?

That's why you should turn bluetooth off when you're not using it.
Is there really any need to have bluetooth turned on all the time? I would think that it just wastes batteries.
You did great, except for the part about pirated software.
You don't want to leave them with the impression that Knoppix is pirated software. You should have just said that it is free software.
No, Chevy Chase was sentenced to make the worst talk show in history. That was punishment for everyone.
No, TFM for Slashdot is called the Karma Sutra
Thank you, I'll be here all week.

Wow hidden troll. Look at the italicized letters to see it.
So basically you're saying anything that can happen already has?
You can't possibly know that. Maybe it has happened on some far away planet. Maybe it will still happen here.
Your argument is completely flawed. By your logic, no technological advances could possibly happen because they haven't happened before.
I think you're the one that needs to get a life, FFS.
