Sony = Lex Luthor (extremely rich & constantly in power)
Nokia = Solomon Grundy (big & strong, but stupid)
Tapewave = The Shade (not bad, but hardly anyone's heard of him before)
We feel very strongly that what the consumer wants is a dedicated gaming device.
They say that for the portable system, but not the home console. Honestly, I could care less about DVD playing, CD playing, and the other new stuff in the PSX, since I have devices for those purposes already that outproform the PS2/PSX. But when it comes to portable machines, I would rather carry around one device rather than several. Don't get me wrong, I don't want cell phone abilities on the system, but PDA software would be quite useful (and if not integrated into the system, then at least in software form). Of course, all-in-one devices tend to not be as good as individual ones, but if it is done decently it will at least be an added reason to shell out the high price that this thing seems to be heading towards.
This is more than just a remake. Kojima has said in a press release that the 2nd half of the game will be different from how it was in the original version. Might I also add that you are paying for the MGS2 engine in the first game, as well as a big graphics update, plus any other new features they decide to add. If you want them to drop the price after all that added work, you're asking for a bit too much.
This post was brought to you by one of those liberals you hate so much, btw.;)
Hardly any decent games? This is the SNES and Genesis era you are talking about, an era that many gamers think of as the real gaming golden age. There were so many good games on both of those systems that are looked apon as being classics. Super Mario World, Sonic the Hedgehog, the SNES Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter 2, Phantasy Star 4, Castlevania 4, and several others were released in that era, and are cherished by many gamers.
I may be wrong about this (it's been a while since I've played it), but I remember hearing once that Killer Instinct had something like this in it. I do remember that certain combos didn't work so well after using them enough times against the computer player.
There are plenty of conservatives that try to censor liberal opinions too. Don't try to blame only one side, because both sides are guilty, and both sides get censored.
why should it be more acceptable for a man to hit another man than a woman?
You know, this has been perfectly acceptable in fighting games since Street Fighter 2. Funny thing is, female boxers never go up against male boxers in the real life professional ring.
why is it unacceptable to hit children?
Because children learn by example. Hitting them will teach them that problems can be solved through violence.
Oh, and the whole being much stronger than them thing is also a factor.
You know, you could have mentioned the company's name. If you are so against their ways, then it would help to let other slashdotters know what company you mean.
Beat them to a bloody pulp? Why not just shut off their computers? The loss of their uptime record would cause them to commit suicide, making the job much easier.:)
The basic idea behind sticking with CD is that more computers have CD-ROM drives than DVD-ROM drives; thus, more people can use the distro if it is on CD. But you are still right, though; even with less people able to use it, it would still be nice to have a LiveDVD distro so that those with the proper drives can have better Live distros.
I was referring to the open source community of Slashdot. I know there are many people outside of Slashdot who are part of the OS community, I'm just saying that despite the large amount of people here who claim to be for open source, they don't really show the community aspect here.
There were no threats to get rid of the information. Besides, they allow people to download it and distorbute it under open source rules.
And you think some old Brittanicas are better than an up-to-date, up-to-the-minute encyclopedia? You talk about unqualified opinion, and you are relying on a copy of an encyclopedia that is nearly 100 years old and comes from before something as simple as civil rights was treated without bias by "educated" individuals?
Honestly, if you think Wikipedia's articles aren't good enough, why don't you help work on them? After all, it is free as in speech.
Actually, they are asking for a little help. They aren't asking for one person to donate $20K, they are asking for several people to donate a piece of that. You only have to give a few bucks and the rest of the Wikipedia community can pay the rest (which will be only a few bucks for each of them, given that enough are donating).
Sorry, but you aren't going to win over the Slashdot crowd by telling them to go with Microsoft instead of an open source alternative.
As for the "painfully biased" comment (personally, I don't see what you are referring to), if you think they are biased then why don't you correct them? You can edit the information, after all.
Are you new to here, or have you just forgotten the difference between "free as in beer" and "free as in speech", because I think you aren't taking into account what open source means.
So much for the open source community

Why are there so many flames in this thread? Slashdotters are really showing a lot of hypocrisy here: we want everything to be open source and free, but when an open source project asks for a little help, we turn our backs on them. I'm sure we wouldn't see the same kind of comments if Linus Torvalds was asking for help.
It's called the Borg, and you probably don't want to see them (at least not up close).

Yep, sounds like the Secret Society to me.

After you download from Weed, you can burn your music to a disc with Alcohol 120%. But make sure you use a crack to remove the DRM first.
When you use weed regularly, the side effects are minimal. When laced with crack, it's addictive. It's nice to see technology imitating life. :)

The Great Firewall of China should hold them back.

I have 768MB of RAM, and I noticed OO.o loaded in notime too, so you don't need a whole GB. My computer isn't a P4 either.
He said that some races are better than others at some things. That counts as racist in your definition.

98 Add a "Skip All Flash Intros" option to Macromedia players
Mozilla Firebird has an extension called Flash Click To Play that stops flash from loading unless you click on it.
The analog controller for the Sega Saturn was made for one hand. It came with the game Nights, which required it.
