What you europeans need are full-size American pickup trucks, like the Chevrolet 1 ton dually 4x4. With the Duramax diesel engine, you'll get 20mpg (8.5 km/litre).
I'm 6'4" and I cannot comfortably fit into a small SUV let alone a car. The only choice for me is a full size truck or a Suburban/Excursion/etc. I had a 1989 Toyota Camry in college and it was painful on the knees. It's pretty much the same type of pain as sitting in a movie theatre seat or amusement park ride; they were made for Joe Sixpack not the Jolly Green Giant.
Some people have suggested I get the new Mini Cooper, tear out the driver seat and sit in the back. =)
Occasionally the alarm clock buzzer/music will infiltrate my dream and I go absolutely insane trying to find the orgin of the noise. I've dreamt about smashing an alarm clock to pieces only to find out that didn't work.
At some point, I usually realize that I'm dreaming and wake up, =).
A few colleagues were working on a tape library and left the room for a few minutes. I lifted up a tile, lowered myself on to the concrete, and put the tile back on. After they came back, I started rattling floor tiles and whatnot. I wish I could've see the look on their faces when I lifted the tile up and off to the side, =).
Since then, I now have a reputation at my company for raised floor hijinks. When the vendors take us out for drinks, thats one of the few stories that come up.
VVR doesn't allow for concurrent access at the secondary site(s). The replication is one way and while the volumes at the secondaries are started, Veritas strongly recommends you do access the filesystems on them.
Much like ATI, I will never buy another Creative product in my lifetime. ATI and Creative ship shoddy products with horrible drivers and non-existent support.
How about if you go somewhere with lots of people around, SET YOUR FUCKING PHONE/PAGER TO VIBRATE.

I'm the same way, I always thought I was alone in the world. I apply that "technique" to all sorts of things. The most memorable one was learning how to play the piano. I didn't bother learning how to read sheet music (fast anyway), so I decoded the symbols into letters and memorized the keystrokes. After a few passes, I had the song, er, keystrokes memorized.
The one that irritates the hell out of me was in the first movie. Gandalf is trapped on a tower deep in enemy territory, and all of a sudden a giant eagle magically comes outta nowhere and delivers him to safety. Of course, said eagle can't possibly be used elsewhere in the story! Why can't Frodo hop on the eagle and fly to Mount Doom?
I have a Vaio (F590K) and it's the best laptop out there (except maybe Apple). I've seen the crap that Dell, Toshiba, Fujitsu and Compaq put out and I'm not impressed. I bought my Vaio in Dec 2000. In addition to the normal stuff it came with Firewire, TV out, a 15" screen, integrated DVD-ROM and two battery bays.
I've been running Win2k, Linux, and OpenBSD on it and they work just fine. Sure there have been driver issues on Win2k, but that's too be expected. In no way was it as bad my Dell Latitude nightmare. Another nice thing about the Vaio is that the power button actually works! On my Dell, it was a stupid fscking soft power button, if the machine got hung up, to power the machine down you had unplug it and pull the battery out.
Overall I'm impressed with Sony products, yeah the aftermarket stuff they sell is overpriced and their support is non-existant but the hardware quality is bar-none.
AIX 4.3 doesn't ship with ldd, don't know about 5.x.

What about tall people?

I'll do ya one better.

The part where the rover is out exploring (with the "American Beauty" music in the background) brought a tear to my eye.
If the world got off its collective ass, just imagine all the great things humanity could achieve.
I occasionally see gas cylinders around town, usually near a utility pole or manho^H^H^H^H personhole. I've always wondered what they were for.
I've done something like this before.

Gotta love India's 60% literacy rate too, the US has 97% and Russia 99%.

LotR has plot holes too, IMO.

Please don't give me some bullshit excuse..
