- one in four people online have now downloaded a film, the MPAA says
The MPAA lies so bad. There is no way that one in every four people online have downloaded a film. One in four is an insane amount of people.
One in four slashdotters, sure, one in four of everyone...no way.
I don't really play sports games but I'm wondering what this really means for EA? Does this mean only they can put ESPN logos in their games? What benefit does that give the gamer? I don't really get it. This doesn't mean only they can use NFL player names and stats so why would someone really care?
I've been looking at local Best Buys here in San Diego for the last couple of weeks and none of them have had it. I haven't searched other stores though because I felt it was good not to be spending the money at the moment =)
My parents just got a new Sony tv that accepts a CableCard directly into it so you don't need a separate box. I called their cable provider (Comcast) and asked if they offered them. They said yes but currently there is a shortage at the moment so they put us on the waiting list. So as far as I know, they are currently offered but they just don't have enough at the moment to give out.
My ex-girlfriend had two Firestone Wilderness AT tires blow out on her on 2 separate occasions. That happened way more than it was reported. The media only talked about the times when people died. In warm climate areas like Florida, those tires were popping like crazy.
I don't really understand how polling several thousand people after they vote can really be a good prediction of how the rest of the 120 million people are going to vote.
No one polled me after I voted and I live in Florida so this whole exit poll thing seemed like a joke to me.
The suits are the latest legal action by the Motion Picture Association of America, which claims its members loose billions of dollars annually to copyright piracy.
How does one who can't even spell write for Yahoo!?
I suspect that since a lot of companies had either layoffs or less hirings, there are less people for them to pay. Therefore, those who they kept can get a little extra money cause there is less waste on the less talented group of people.
Have you ever seen those see thru dishwashers in Best Buy or Sears that are used for demos? i always wanted one of those...maybe doing the dishes could actually be fun.
Those prices do seem out of whack but you have to understand that when a movie goes to DVD, it is most likely already in the profit range. Movies are paid for at the box office. This is why DVDs can be the same price or even less than their soundtracks.
Try applying to defense contractors. I graduated a year ago and have been working for one since. I've been to Europe twice already and may have the chance to go to some other places too...I think hawaii may be on the list...since you will have a customer that is based all over the world, you'll most likely be involved in a project that requires on-site support...but like some of the other people have said, living out of a hotel room for weeks at a time is not exactly the best life.
A lot of companies like to send the young guys cause they have no "baggage" back at home (i.e. kids or wife).
...until SCO sues Sun?

I though copyright infringement was a civil offense?...or is there such thing as a felony civil offense?

It appears that your punctuation also has room for improvement as the apostrophe in "Slashdot Writers' Learn Punctuation" does not make sense.
Since when do corporations have any say what a city can do with its land?

Looks like someone already ate it!
I'd much rather have internet access on my laptop while I fly instead of 4 crappy tv channels.
I think you 1.33 US dollars to 1 euro.
