I also too sex-ed in the mid nineties however pregnancy was barely mentioned in comparison to STD's. Maybe it was just your school that didn't choose to highlight the true dangers.

Abstinence isn't a solution either. Projects encouraging these seemingly have an extremely high rate of failure. In this case (http://www.usingenglish.com/speaking-out/silver-r ing-thing.html) 88% failure with these 20% less likely to use protection.

The only way to avoid these issues is to educate in an adult and realistic way at an early age, not to encourage the practice, but encourage a 'best-practice' if a person chooses to have sex.

Please could you also qualify you assertion that 75% of under 20's have an STD. This is certainly not backed up by the mainstream media. The only UK figures I can find indicate an infection level of 9% - 15% of those under 25.

    Back up your claims.

And yes I only have one partner but I resent these false statistics that are so often use to back up puritan programs (which I personally believe are actually detrimental to the sexual health of those involved)

IIADJ (and prefer to use 12" vinyl) but I have to point out why you are 'outcast'. DJing isn't playing music. That's why there are thousands of DJs and very few make it. You are a showman. If a crowd just wanted music then mix CDs or the computerised 'DJs' that automatically mix music would be more popular (and cheaper) than the uber-Djs. They're not. If you use vinyl (or to a lesser extent CDs) the crowd see's what you are doing and you can trick around to work this as much as you want. If you're staring at a monitor then you can't. Whilst I'm sure it's easier to use it's not what people expect to see (in a bad way) and it turns them off. We had a guy use his laptop to mix from with a USB control panel. He could get great effects out of it and porbably do more to the tunes that I could with just vinyl but he lasted 2 weeks. Why? He didn't engage the crowd and wasn't popular despite the fact his mixing and music selection were superb. Not meaning to flame but until mixing using a computer has the same 'flair' as the more traditional methods it will be relegated to technophile (not techno) clubs and never be mainstream.

In addition our laws over here mean that you can request a copy of the tape of ANY camera that records you (for a small fee I believe) so you have complete access to what they have seen.

This applies to government and business alike (who have to have appropriate permissions in the first place).

It's always a bit of fun to be able to get a copy of your buddy naked and throwing up into a bin on his 30th birthday so you can threaten to show his wife :-)

Sort of.... I used to work as a DJ when I was at college and the CDs that were used naturally were covered in beer and scratches till eventually they wouldn't play. To get around this we used to put the CD in a freezer overnight and then take them out in the morning and use a fine grain cutting compound (T Cut Metallic as I recall) to remove any light scratches that built up and they were fine and dandy after that. Sometimes even freezing improved the CD (though the physics eludes me as to why)
