This is kind of interesting. Found by a co-worker of mine.
Do a search on Google for 'linux' and you'll get 207,000,000 results. Google will only display the first 1000 results, after which you receive a notice stating that fact.
Do the same search on Microsoft's, and you get ~28,000,000 results, they give the exact number, 28,296,161, yet they'll only display up to 280. After which they display an error saying they found no results for 'linux'.
I did a refresh of a XP Home update, and SP2 was at the top of the list. Pretty interesting, the boot screen now says "Windows XP" with no reference to Home or Professional. The scrolling bar color also changed. Now it looks like I have XP Pro....wait that's still embarassing....
That's whats so great about Live CDs, you can test out multiple kernels on the hardware. See what works, see what doesn't and weigh the pros and cons of said kernels.
Speed of the 2.6, but no Guba-flaba-ding Target digital camera?
Or 2.4, stable yet has support for said camera?

For once stopped legislation regarding spam is a good thing.
Think about how successful the Do-Not-Call list is right now.
"Hi, I'm not calling to 'sell' you something. I'm doing a survey for INSERT COMPANY HERE. There is an option to buy, but that's not the reason for our call...."
Right...I said 'Do not call' that means 'No calls'
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize it would be such a problem!" *wipes nose with C-note* "I only wanted to make a couple extra dollars a month, put an extra bread roll on the table..." *lights cigarette from burning $50*
He may be sorry, but I'm sure his bank account isn't...
$19.99 for a 2 gig mailbox? I've got a shared hosting account with 10Gbs disk space for cheaper than that. I get my own domain, spam control (my own choice), and NO ADs.
I'd hope it's a one-time 20 bucks, non-recurring...
We're not talking Operating Systems here... A similar statement would be: One Operating System, One Browser...which is certainly not the case with Micros-...oh wait, we're talking about Internet Explorer...shit...
Along with the TI-86, 92, and 95. I remember when the TI-92 was the "Amazing Calculator" only the rich kids could afford. Kind of weird they continue with the TI-8x line but not the 9x.
Hopefully this isn't a result of the supposed 'leaked' code awhile back. If it was, and Microsoft finds out, it could set them back twice as far as they've come.
Granted I don't do as much development at home as I do at work, having a nice cable connection at home is great for downloading various SDKs. Especially when they get into the 30-40Mb range.
I like getting Apache's Jakarta packages lickety-split, and finding out why my implementation isn't working correctly can speed things along nicely as well.
I could live without broadband, but I guess the American 'Fast Food' way has had its impact on me.
Does anyone have any benchmark comparisons (3rd party comparisons, none of this "Apple-funded / Intel-funded" stuff) I'm a bit skeptical considering I bought a Dell laptop with 1.6Ghtz about 1.5 years ago.
This isn't considered to be a troll, I'm just wondering about the performance difference.
Personally I'd rather see patches that won't open new vulnerabilities. Too many times we've seen these quick reflex fixes from Redmond, only to see that they release a patch for the patch. I'd rather patch the problem fully, than have a quick punch patch, that just gets exploited a week later.
My stance is that you're essentially playing baseball in your heighbors yard. He won't change the way you play the game, or change the rules necessarily, but he sure is going to limit how far you can hit the ball. Like the green monster at Fenway.
Last I checked, Gates won't be gone for another 2 years. It's a little pre-mature to say 'before his departure'...
I should be okay, my passwords are on a Post-It attached to my monitor.

Trend Micro OfficeScan caught it as well...
Parent is one of the first posts, yet it is modded 'Redundant'? How does that work?
According to this the TI-99/4A was discontinued.

They have the TI-92.
Isn't this like Intel trying to continue development of the Pentium II while the P4 is on the market?
...my investment money?
I mean with a page like this I can trust them right?
You know, they DO have place holders. I guess it's better than all the fake links they have around the site.

Well yeah. People are stupid to think they'll be able to stay awake.
I hope AMC is okay with me camping in their lawn for the next year.
Surviving on half-eaten bags of popcorn, drinking un-drank sodas, hoping I don't get the one used a make-shift 'restroom' for LOTR:ROTK.
You know those little stickers...
"This machine will not release free product"
Then a little picture of the machine falling on a stick figure. Maybe it'll be a Penguin?
Is Real following suit with Mandrake?
Using the "YOU MUST BUY OUR PRODUCT"...(small print) The download for the free version is 10 links deep (/small print)
