First of all, why even bother waste the effort on their part coding this "new" feature? IE is so insecure that i have no doubt there will be multiple ways to get around the pop-up blocker.
Second: MS has yet to release a second service pack (for XP) and none have been released when they said they will. Hopeful IE users may have to wait for another year or two for this "great" new feature.
Third: If Gates attempts to block X10 ads (which I assume was a jest on the part of the Slashdot author) he is a moron... X10 went bankrupt as I recall.
I am distraught that such a good product line is being discontinued. I have RH 8 on two boxes and I love it. Unfortunately the service ends January. Suddenly SuSE is looking pretty good. RedHat shouldn't have done this because now they have one main source of income-- the corporate sector. And if that fails, they've got nothing left to lean on.
Where are they going with this? Are they going to try and sue every keyboard maker in the world for 'providing the tools (shift key) for piracy and infringement upon SunComm's IP' and crap like that?
Maybe if I use the righthand shift or caps lock...
Remove the chip and get a new one if you want dual booting or linux. There has to be a hack to overwrite the BIOS mem. I am no chip expert by far, but is it really possible for them to entirely by hardware mechanisms to make it windows only?
Microsoft is sorry for any harm it has caused by using other's Intellectual Property. Our reparation to all affected by our behavior is the new Internet Explorer 7. In it, we have removed all patent-infringing code that was present in previous versions. We are also proud to announce that the new version is 100% bug free, totally secure, and never crashes.
Microsoft's response, of course, is that consumers should steer clear
I've been trying to tell consumers that for years!!
I completely agree with the 3 clicks rule. Customer's credit cards should always be available within a cracker's first 3 clicks.
By CGI, do they mean Common Gateway Interface?
Why don't we just announce the secure things we find in IE instead of all the holes. It would save slashdot a considerable amount memory.
Kernel 2.6.0 would make a very nice stocking-stuffer.
I hope their price rollback's don't mean my drivers roll back too.
takes a look at seven futuristic dreams for the past that never managed to materialize into anything substantial in this 21st century.
like windows...
If MS bought google i'm guessing there would no longer be an http://www.google.com/linux
Wait a second, Gore invented the internet-- how can he be against e-voting?
Impressive ideals! You must have been Employee of the Month many times.

They know that linux is the future-- Sun is simply adapting to survive. Both it and Opteron are more cost-effective than UNIX and SPARC, respectively.

I fear I soon may have to change my
It's the idiot's fault who has ancient, insecure windows (and ancient, insecure AOL) in the first place.

Just ignore them and they'll go find someone else to crap on.
They're gonna have a pretty rough time trying to convince everyone that worms are actually cool...

What's next? UPD over bagpipes?
Ummm...
calc.exe can't graph sinusoids, set up matrices, draw conics, calculate regressions, play games, etc. Like most graphing calcs can.
I'm a twin, you insensitive clods!
'This is a fabric for someone to do e-commerce that's independent of the operating systems that are out there.' What .NET never could do

So are they gonna tell us something we don't already know? Or are they just gonna admit that NASA sucks?
And yet they haven't made a robot that can walk up walls like a gecko.
Actually...
Here is a slashdot article about one such robot
