But then the ability to upgrade will become a factor. Maybe not as soon as it would have been a couple of years ago, since CPU speeds aren't moving up quite as fast, but in the long run, I'll keep my dual-boot Linux/Windows machine. Being an old geezer also helps my decision to buy a Wii instead, since I want to play the old Nintendo games, and something tells me that us old geezers may be a big influence in Nintendo's market share...

For what you'll pay for the PS3, a lot of geeks can upgrade their PCs pretty nicely. That, or build new ones altogether. As far as the PS3 console goes, I'll buy a Wii (maybe), and wait for my PC's hardware to run fast enough to have a 'virtual' PS3. If the PS3 could replace my PC, then I'd look harder at buying.

The politicians don't care about your extramarital affairs; they're too busy trying to keep their own quiet. They can have my phone records, hell, they can listen in as I talk to Mom about that recipe for Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, tomato and Spam. So long as they don't make that recipe a government secret, fine by me. Let's not forget there's a bridge out there that wouldn't BE out there if not for the Patriot Act. It's in Brooklyn; the FBI had snippets of someone speaking in Arabic and kept hearing "Brooklyn Bridge", so they checked the guy out and stopped us from being attacked again.
