Oh come on man! You're telling me that Crank Yankers, Reno 911, Upright Citizens Brigade, and Mind of Mencia are worse shows than MST3K and Futurama. What next huh?! You're probably gonna tell me that the Sci-Fi channel sucks and kills off all their good sci-fi programming as well and replaces it with wrestling... oh wait...

In all seriousness, I agree. With the exception of South Park, Comedy Central really doesn't have a whole lot going for it. With Sci-fi, well they had Dead Like Me for a while but they got rid of that as well. So I guess the only thing Sci-fi has going is Enterprise. Oh wait, that show sucks too. Meh, both channels are dying. Netcraft confirms it.

  8. who cares... on Unreal 3 Engine to Skip the Wii · · Score: 4, Insightful

This is not a troll. Anyway, who cares? The whole point of the Wii is not to deliver stunning movie-quality graphics. The point of the Wii is to change the way games are played. High end graphics are overrated anyway. Doom 3 and Quake 4 both have fantastic fx but the game play is not innovative and is boring. WarioWare for the Wii has minimal graphics, but IMHO, is very replayable. I know I'm sounding old here but I'm sick of the argument that graphics are everything. In other words, the PS3 and the Xbox 360 may render a piece of crap in high detail... capturing all the intricate details and using 16X anti-aliasing to render the post steam convecting off of it... but it still a piece of crap. I want to be able to play with that piece of crap... toss it around like bowling or in tennis. I can do this with the Wii and it smells fantastic.

  9. Moderation is the key (most times) on Keeping Web Discussions Open, Yet Civilized? · · Score: 3, Insightful

Moderation is the key. Take a look a three sites.

    Slashdot.
IMOH, I think Slashdot has a "pretty good" moderation system and meta-moderating is making it better. Most of the comments are are insightful or interesting is moderated as such. People come to Slashdot really for the comments because I think most of the readers are articulate and can provide something interesting/insightful to a story. It is really an intelligence thing. Generally, nerds are smart.

    Digg.
I think Digg has a "fair" moderation system. One can see that it is fair to you if you think like most of the Digg users. Now, some can say that about Slashdot but stories are not deleted on /. just because they express something that a Digger doesn't want to hear like on Digg.com. I personally don't like Digg that much... or at least the comments and they don't offer or contribute that much to the parent story. I think Digg is mostly a trendy thing.

    Fark.
I think that Fark has a "poor" moderation system. They let any yahoo express his or hers opinion. I think that the majority of Farkers are jobless alcoholics anyway... but that is besides the point... Most Fark comments are just random knee-jerk reactions. Moderators of Fark don't care... all they do is focus beer and naked people anyway... nothing insightful or interesting.

  12. Largest Retailer! Well stop the presses! on The Tale of Wal-Mart, Jack, and Bully · · Score: 1

Who cares if Wal*Mart is the largest retailer. God, what is with men and size?! Look, I live in Texas where Wal*Marts are a plenty, but I rarely shop there. I shop at the local HEB (Texas only grocer). HEB has much higher quality fruits and veggies. Yes, I know I could get better prices at Wal*Mart, however, the quality is crap since Wal*Mart bids at the lowest bidder.

You see, the great thing about this country is the freedom to choose where you go to buy food (or in this case - video games). Size means nothing, contrary to what most men and some (okay, most women) think.

First off, get over yourself. Brandishing about the fact that you have a full ride and that your tuition bill is minimal is load of self-important horseshit.

Secondly, get in touch with reality. College is hard work... I have learned that you don't go to college for money. You go to college to learn. With that learning (not just academically, but about life in general) you learn that life does not come delivered to you on a silver plate. *Most* college students have loans. Unless you're some rich trouser stain who doesn't have you be bothered by reality (i.e. the submitter) you'll probably be working shit jobs at a shit wage living in a shit apartment trying to get your degree.

This sense of entitlement is beyond infuriating. I experienced this kind of crap in college all the time. Life does not owe you anything and there is a high likelihood you'll be in debt. Just be happy that it is another day and leave it at that.
