    Are you aware that most cell phones have a jvm so that you can run crappy games like 21 or slot machine? and that this just bloated the processing power and consecutively the price and degraded batery life?

    Besides, they're written in java because they're useless. they're put there in the last minute to please marketing folks. so the ppl that makes them (crapy soft houses) are aware and choose to develop in java. it would be oh-so-portable if they developed in basic for that matter since it's other people (cell phone programers) who have to write the jvm. i bet they would rater write a basic interpreter... By the way, are the genereal UI and even the camera thingy in java? no, cuz they were planned to be there, so it could be well developed. not just trhow there in the last minute.

    Cell phones gives cancer!

    the article is totaly dumb. The mentioned theory about "basic traits of all languages are hard-wired in the human brain" have been reject centuries ago.
    anyone with a clue (wich is NOT the case with journalists) knows that the language developed by these kids only show that deaf people can be influenced by gestures and signs generated by non-deaf people. period.

    that reminds me of a history of luis some-roman-numeral that confinated some dozen childrens from every human contact to see if they will grow up speaking english, german or french... languages are hard-wired in the human brain my ass. go back to school you associated press journalist.

    i wouldn't do this but you got me to.
    Open source is not filantropy. VERY VERY VERY few people do it with the objective to help others _directly_. Helping others is just am _indirect_ consequence.

    I do it because i have already coded something that I needed, then i have no trouble letting it go back to the people that make it possible for me to code it simplier (i used their tools, after all). And i also have done it for my very own ego (also, looks good on the resumé :)

    every week, since 1990, we got an article just like that. alpha is dead. PERIOD.

    the only two alpha i had to administer in my life, one was slow as a DEAD COW and the other was stable as a DEAD COW (i think it was some trouble with the power unit, but the support from digital cost more then 12 brand new dell machines).

    But, to stop being too redundant; the real reason for this tagging, that the very same blind monkey can also see if it stop being so dumb like the general public, is that they are merely extendind the tracking of the customers itself.

    It's just like the rfid tag that you're all fear so much. Why i don't see a post like "they rfided my gillet!" and them some comments like "ah, just wrap it with some metalized paper and you're done"

    No. i don't see topics like the above. so why would some post like "they tagged my game" receives comments like "just build with this argument and you're done"?
