There are astrologists all over the world smoking a cigarette right now after these last few weeks of solar activity? I would guess that this is akin to locking a sex addict in a porn shop overnight. BTW, if the sun blows up I'm gonna be pissed. My fantasy football team is kicking ass this year.
It's fun but I play a very simple MMORPG. It doesn't consume a lot of time but if I really wanted to develop a strategy for it, I could spend hours a day on it (as some have). I am more addicted to the forums there than the game itself to be honest.
I read the article, found it mildly amusing but see absolutely no relevance to it? Am I missing something?
The guy that did the research said a 1/3 of a mile away and you may have experienced some broken windows, further away and you would have just heard a loud bang? HELLO?!? Mr. Obvious! Where I can I sign up to walk around and tell everyone the sky is blue and water is wet.
if there was just one standard voting system employed throughout the freaking country. I know logic and common sense would get in the way of something this simple but jeez, we put a man on the moon. You would think we could develop an idiot proof voting system. I know, I know: show me an idot proof system and I'll find you a better idiot.
The market was flooded and then came the obvious bloodletting. It has started to come back slowly but will not reach the levels it once was. I've know 5 programmers that have all been fired, re-hired, fired and most have been re-hired agained. It seems it's all about short term specialization rather than long term stability.
Cash works. Give what you can. If it's $1,500 per employee so be it but be careful. It has been my experience that once given, it becomes expected. I would be very careful in the explination of the gift. Explain your appreciation for their hard work but temper it with the fact that the current prosperity may not carry over to next year so that they don't come to expect it. It may sound harsh but as the employer, these decisions have to be made. It's good times now but it may not last forever.
I am involved in one called Everwars. It does not promote clans but there are some. I guess those would be akin to societies somewhat but for the most part, the game doesn't take much time and allows you to get as involved as you like unlike some that I seen that require too much of your time.
I enjoy the game but am certainly so hooked to it that I couldn't walk away.
Most of you think this is really cool. You think China is doing this for the good of it's people? or to further technology that they will share with the world? or simply to scale that mountain because it is there?
.
It's China. Nothing favorable, from the United States point of view, will come of this. China can be monitored on the Earth, who will be doing that in space? You enjoy the thought of China having the ability to put whatever they want in space without our knowledge? Doesn't give me a warm fuzzy.
just a few short years ago our illustrious government was tripping over itself to sell sensitive missile and computer technology to China for a handful of campaign contributions and a fat bank account. Now lokky here, China done got themselves a space program. Thanks Bill!
Nothing and I mean absolutely nothing good will come of this.
Like when a player scores a touchdown? Or do the programmers wheel it around in circle chanting it's name? You gotta let them have a little fun.
Better then making them mad and having them go Terminator on us.
1. If you give a fraudelent SS # to an employer, good luck trying to collect anyhting from SS when you need it. I am one of those people that never use my given name but a shorter version of it. You know how your alias comes up on the credit reports? Pretty cool until you start thinking about walking into SS to collect. At least all the different names have the same SS # but it still looks funny having 3-4 names that you have to justify. Bottomline, not a real smart idea to fudge your SS # or your given name
2. My wife went thru this recently. Luckily I don't think anything came of it but it bought up another problem associated with this type of crime. It seems that completely unbeknownst to us, there was another woman running around town with my wifes name running up cards and not paying. Since the phone is listed in my wifes name, the CC company calls her and starts reading her the riot act. We backtrack and get this other ladies information, where she used to live, her last 4 digits of her SS #, etc. Luckily we found this out and have been able to head off any potential problems.
You have got to shred everything that has any kind of personal info on it. Everyone we talked to recommended this. Think about all the junk CC offers you get and throw away. Imagine if someone was taking them, filling them out and submitting them? Not much of a stretch, is it?
Check it out, on-line RPG. I've managed thru two tournaments and the beta test and I can assure you, I worship Satan no more than I did before I started playing the game;)
I've recently gotten hooked on an online D&D spin off called Everwars. Check out the link in my signature if you're interested. Judging from the number of players involved, online role playing is alive and well.
It's not a new idea but it's a good one. Shame it will never happen. There are way too many problems inherint with on-line voting.
You want to fix voting? Give everyone the day off provided they bring back a "I voted today" card from the voting center. Guarnatee the turnout will be huge, 70-80% at least. And I'm betting they would get ti right. It's a shame you have entice people to want to vote but it's the sad state of affairs we find ourselves in today.
does anybody in those countries have the ability to pay for the game box, the games and enough electricity to keep the game running long enough to play?;-)
Good luck finding me! Even my boss doesn't have a clue where I am!

Now I gotta wait for the the game that encompasses all the games now. Thanks for ruining it for me!

I doubt it will catch on tho. Next you'll be telling me we can get radio from a satellite.

I can sleep at night! This has caused an awful drain on myself and my family, thank God the nightmare is over!
the whole geek thing but is it customary to have a page dedicated to pictures of computers?

I'm looking for a new phone and have been waiting until the all everyhting phone comes around, this sounds like the one.

How many 12 year olds can there be in the world?
Is it me or is there a certain irony about writing a book about a comic book writer? Never had an interest in the stuff.

this is a bad idea. Spying on people for the sake of an "expiriment" is nothing more than thinly vailed invasion of privacy.

I am one of those seniors and I don't need no stinking Metamucil! Where is this thing? I'm booking tickets now!
